Weapon Illusions & Artifact Weapons - Please Remove Restrictions

So ok Beta you was able to put weapon illusions on your artifact weapons, but in the latest build that has been removed.

Seriously its time to remove the arbitrary restrictions on Artifact Weapons and how they can be transmoged.

  • Allow Weapon Illusions (old enchant effects)
  • Allow any OH/MH combination (Enh shamans wanting MH mace on both hands for example)
  • Remove Class Spec restrictions as long as its same type of weapon (ie. 1 handed or 2 handed).
  • Illusions should be able to be put on ranged weps also. We have seen it done on ptr builds and its not fair to hunters to loose out on this. Its just cosmetic.

Before some players comment that one or more of these are in game now. At various points like the Enhance Shaman issue they were at one point and depending on what class you play, some of these restrictions may not apply. Thus the current restrictions are not equally applied to each class. IMHO there shouldnt be any restrictions on items that where last used over 4 years ago…

EDIT: Added Illusions on Ranged weps.

This is why people need to take everything they see on test servers with a grain of salt. It was the same with the “you can learn ensembles of other armor types sold by vendors” thing that popped up recently.

But yes, restrictions on stuff like this should be removed whenever possible. It’s incredibly annoying that they don’t simply open up transmog options.

i agree… transmog is purely cosmetic and should have as few restrictions as possible.

Agreed completely…

Do like the fact that it shows there is no coding/mechanical issues preventing us from using transmog illusions on weapons except for Blizzard just wanting to be a hard @ss about it.

i’d like to add that the offhands, like some of the enhance maces, are still invisible when sheathed. not necessarily a restriction per se, but still an artifact mog issue that has broken many of my otherwise rad looking mogs.

I mean, it’s entirely possible that there IS a coding issue. Like if you’re using the Prot Warrior artifact and it might do something strange if it tries to apply an illusion to both the weapon and the shield.

Blizz attitude towards things like this is really what causes so much friction between the players and the devs. This isn’t anything that matters just throw the players a bone instead we get arbitrary rules with no reasoning given.

I’d love to add Unbreakable Resolve to this staff.

i agree… there is no reason to have arbitrary restrictions on cosmetic only features

Are you asking for any class to use any artifact appearance? Because that’s something people shouldn’t be rallying behind. We don’t need Paladins with Doomhammer or Apocolypse, and we don’t need Shamans with Aluneth, and we don’t need Demon Hunters with Blades of the Fallen Prince.

More homogenization is NOT a good thing, we need to keep some things seperate in the game to preserve class fantasy and this is one of them

Laughs in bow/gun/cross bow using hunter. First time? But seriously, let us use the weapon illusions on all weapons, ranged and artifact weapons included. I agree with everything else though.

its blizzard though… they … don’t understand…
prove me wrong.

No no…

What I was talking about for example I can use my Unholy DK art wep on both my Unholy spec and Frost, but can not use my Blood art wep appearance on the other two… They are all 2 handed weps so it makes no sense.

If you play as 2h frost, you would be able to do that. That restriction has been gone for awhile.

I believe the bigger issue is that blizzard said this COULD NOT be done without a huge amount of ‘time and resources’ you know, the blizzard go to line for anything in this game…AND THEN DO IT BY MISTAKE its a “bug” but then change it back.

If this can’t be done because of the amount of time this would need how would a bug, something that is broken and not working correctly do it? A…are the bugs in this game better game designers then the game designers?! Better hire them quick they work for sugar cubes.

Looks like they are going ahead with illusions on artifacts… They just have to work on it some more…

And I’m guessing ranged weapons won’t be included in that. Happy for every other class/spec but for MM and BM, I guess we don’t get nice things.

I can absolutely see it being some unrelated minor change somewhere else that allowed it to happen, since it wouldn’t be the first time. Wowhead points it out as a thing that can be done, internally they’re like, “hey this is cool, but what happened since we didn’t actually enable it?” Time goes by, they fix any assortment of random bugs in the latest build, suddenly it doesn’t work anymore.

I’m glad it happened though, and I’m glad they decided they want it to be a thing. Now let them fix the weirdness in the glows and we can have our fun later, because it does look super weird on some of the weapons.

Yea got a BM too I love to play… Its always ticked me off I can not add no glow to the bows or guns.

Guardians and ferals dual wielded in Legion. That should have been added to our weapon skills at the end of Legion. Dual bear claw fist weapons can’t be used by guardians, wth?

Already existed and was removed. No, we don’t need more restrictions to make people who think other people learn to live with restrictions happy.

weapon illusions don’t really work on hunters. But I think hunters need more quivers like the Sylvanas one and arrows like from Thoridal.
