I have recently switched to Holy Priest from Discipline and noticed that following weapon enchants: Quick Navigation, Coastal Surge do not proc while I am using pure healing abilities such as renew, prayer of healing, Holy words Sanctify and Serenity. Weapon enchants only proc when using DPS talents ( for example Smite, Holy Fire). I have tested those several times switching the enchants. As soon as I use DPS talents weapon enchant procs…… nothing happens when I use healing abilities. Please explain to why this is happening.
This sounds like a very bad and serious bug if it’s true. I hope it’s an error on your end but I have yet to test it myself.
I’ve seen some older threads complaining about this, where it’s revealed that healing casts can proc the enchant if you’re in combat. Spamming heals out of combat apparently don’t do the trick.
Editing to add: this thread from the old forums (last post going back to late August) discusses it. Last post in the thread is my source. I don’t have a healer, so I can’t vouch for it, but if you weren’t test-healing on dummies (which puts you into combat) it’s probably worth checking out.
In addition to being on combat, healing spells also generally need to do actual healing to proc enchants/trinkets/etc. So healing someone that’s already at full health won’t work.
I know they purposely changed that - I think for both PvP and PvE reasons but namely PvP reasons; For example; Lets say I casted a heal in the Waiting Room before an arena started… Then my enchant would be on an ICD (Internal Cooldown) when I might need it. So they changed it to not effect targets with maximum HP as well as being in combat.
But if the spells are not proc’ing at all after healing in combat on a target that is not at full health is not working as intended.
This should be getting more attention.
I’ve tested it on the low health PvP dummies, while in combat, and I can’t get my trinkets or my enchants to proc from healing, only from dealing damage, or spells like Chi Wave which both heal and do damage.
Even when I do raids and check my recount, I often can’t find a single instance of Ruby Welp Shell having actually done anything (and yes I have it assigned to heal/support).
Whatever the case, healing/procs is jank right now. Even if it was somehow proven that it is in fact working, it’s not working nearly well enough lol. Its never mystery if I’m getting procs on my gear an enchants as DPS, no reason it should mysteriously feel so ghetto as heals…
