Weaken low level mobs with high level toon?

Looking for good tips and tricks for this kind of thing. I’m tryna have a WOD barn for LW on my Dracthyer, who is only 61 right now, but even completely naked, mobs fall over by only touching them. I thought wing buffet would work but turns out that is only a knockback. Does zero dmg. I can kill and skin manually but barn is way more efficient and there are still other old quests where weakening the mob is required.

There’s a foam sword item. It might be a toy, can’t recall.

Well, that is a problem when you reach a level where you one shot them you can’t trap them 61 is too high and trying to find a place farm with people doing the same is a challenge.

thnx. I will check my box for it. I also thought about the old pellet gun a street vendor sold. Any item would have to not be affected by char stats at all since even with Ilevel zero, it is still a 1 shot.

Buy the foam sword, sold by the vendor at the Dalaran toy store. :slightly_smiling_face: I ran into the same issue and the foam sword is the answer.

I suspect the foam sword was put in the game for this very reason.

Northrend Dal or B.I. Greese? And TY!

It was added in Legion, so check broken isles first. It might also be in available in northrend

One problem with the foam sword (unless they fixed it) is it doesn’t work on some elite mobs which can be really annoying.

New Dal (Legion) has it for sure. Not sure about the other.

Picked one up (Broken Isles Dalaran shop). Yes, perfect and I have to agree that it likely was added just for this sort of thing. Cast time is a bit long, but otherwise fine. Knocks em down to about 5%

Sadly it doesn’t always work. I tried to use it the other day in Blackwing Descent to tame Chimaeron (who requires us to damage him to a certain % before becoming tameable) and learned it cannot be used inside of instances. I also wonder if it’s effective against other rare tames with unique situations, like Deth’tilac, but have yet to test it out in the open on any of those pets.

Isn’t there some item that will turn you into a frog for a minute? and do some wee amount of dmg per hit? Or am I thinking of another game? FF? lol Either way seems like it would have been a better way to go, have something that actually makes you less powerful while active.
