The base game was made to be very doable without addons. Calling a crutch required material is like saying you need cliff notes handy for your tests.

Please name one weakaura that’s necessary to “not handicap yourself”, and if you can’t name it, then please describe it.

There are no mandatory Weakauras, in raid most of them are to help simplicate mythic raid bosses for the first few pulls, where after that you don’t need bossmods or weakauras anyway, since you learn the fight quickly. None of them “play the game” for you, or any nonsense people here like to spew out.

the difference between having it and not is like putting a game on expert mode vs beginner. Watch this video by a top player, it takes this person 20 minutes + to explain the intricacies of this addon. The amount of things this can do, the amount of information it can give you, it’s too much. Any addon that is SO important that it’s considered required to play the game shouldn’t exist in said game.
Just watching this video makes my head spin, let alone trying to figure out how to make all this stuff work and I’ve been playing this game a long time. Imagine being a new player and being told that if you want to join a raid you should download this addon and figure it out. I’d be instantly out bro. No thanks.
I understand that a lot of players use this addon and can’t imagine the game without it, but it really needs to go. The baseline game needs to incorporate some of this stuff and disable this.

I’ve viewed the video you’ve provided and understood Naguura, it’s straight forward. WeakAuras are not hard to understand and can take 20 + minutes to learn, right?

Also, you’re underestimating new and old players to WoW, how would you know they don’t know about addons? There are a ton of games (including Skyrim) that allow it’s use.

Heck, my eight year old types without looking at their hands.

I’ve played this game a long time too and use WeakAuras, to say they need to go is just silly. That’s like saying to someone don’t go to college because it’s too hard.

I’m curious, are you on your main or alt? I ask because you have little m+ experience this season and have no raiding experience in Dragon Flight.

Lets say you dont use any addon to raid mythic, but your raid leader that is doing call outs on discord is relying on WA/addon to give them, can you say you are actually raiding without a WA?

Disingenuous argument. You know that no average player pushing keys or mythic raiding needs to know any of that stuff.
All you need to know is click the weakaura someone like me put in party chat, and more than half of you can’t be bothered to do that; so this tired argument has gone nowhere, and will go nowhere.
