It makes perfect sense though. I don’t know how I could explain it to you any more clearly than they already did.
For example, I know nothing of basketball. But in my mind, Michael Jordan will always be better than Lebron James. I have no numbers, or anything like that to back my statements up, but I did watch Space Jam once upon a time.
When someone who actually does know and has played basketball tells me I didn’t actually watch any of the games either of those two players played in, “I’ll start watching next season.” isn’t contributing to the debate we’re having right now. I still don’t have the relevant experience to back up what I’m saying and the promise of future experience doesn’t mean I know what I’m talking about now.
People have been explaining exhaustively how covenants in their current form affect their gameplay in a negative way, and how you doing you isn’t a problem so long as they can do them. To which your response has been “But I got what I wanted. So your experience doesn’t matter, sorry, not sorry.”
I said this in the other thread but I think It’s worth repeating.
We’ve done this song and dance with Ion for every system he’s ever released since he took over in Legion.
Ion creates a new system, it gets immense and well deserved backlash from the community and it promptly rectified in the following patch.
Preach made a point yesterday which I agree with where mentioned It’s better than the ripcord isn’t going to be pulled before release otherwise there would be a resentment against content creators, high end players, pulltheripcordians from the people who truly believe this will be a character/class/game defining system (the “”“1%”"") that we took something away from them .
It’s better than the system comes out as is, everyone gets to experience the disappointment first hand and this thread and the movement will be here to accept them with open arms.
That was the first time in all my years of lurking on the forums that I ever saw such a mass of folks all state ‘they were leaving and not coming back till its gone/fixed’.
and during WoD there was a slightly smaller mass all stating ‘they had left and come back and it was still poop’
One big thing I will say is how many people who want the coven system scraped tested beta or just listen to the loud mouths and then say they 100% agree with the loud mouths?
The system to me isn’t flawed like they had with the Azerite system. There is no RNG with the powers, which surprise surprise, is few for a powered powered system we’ve had to date.
The Soulbinds don’t add much either, they add more power to the tool kits we will now have plus a few minor abilities that everyone can get if your that coven.
What surprises me the most about the so called “pull the rip cord” movement is most really offer no feedback, only saying pull it with no actual logic to their claims.
Agree, and the worse part even if they balance it well enough or it is not that bad. They still going to cry and whine about it until the very end. Watch.
It isn’t that simple bro, if the system is hot garbage and that makes the game hot garbage people will unsub after a month or two of launch. I know that’s what I’ll do if it is hot garbage.
I read the OP and think yeah that makes perfect logical sense, but then memory of the reality of playing Battle for Azeroth sinks in and I just have an overwhelming, extremely pessimistic sense of foreboding
There wouldn’t be a 9.3 to change the system if there was no system in the first place. There will be, heres the additional content we’ve been working on the extra storyline.
How the community acted on this issue is not wanting to wait till 9.3 to get the system fixed because it is inevitable will be broken, as their two previous of iterations of borrowed power. They refuse to balance the base game or have absolutely no clue how to and then they added this?
They refuse to balance and properly make meaningful class changes, like Shamans not having defensives.
It will not look poorly on Blizzard to finally realize that borrowed power and additional server strain isn’t a good thing, it’ll be an act of grace and maturity on their part.
You plus many others on these forums couldn’t be further from the truth.
I mean… it probably doesnt matter to you that much.
You dont even raid or do keys. What do you do? world quests and mythic zero?
Doubt you’d need to worry about imbalances at all.
I just came back to the game after a few months, I was doing M+ fairly regularly and raided once in a while before the N’Zoth patch when I was in an active guild. The guild fell apart and I took a break for a while.
