We should get a week of NO affix every season

why not? It makes sense to add that to the mix

Because that would be the week that determines who gets the title and anyone that misses it will be non-competitive…which is a silly way to do a competition

That would also make dungeon ratings worthless since getting a rating during a week with no affixes doesn’t demonstrate knowledge of anything

Because it isn’t meant to be a freebie mode. Affixes are not meant to be “fun” or a positive for the groups. I can approve of a kiss/curse seasonal and ideally replacing fort and tyrannical which can go the eff away entirely or go on like +30 or something and just have natural key scaling otherwise,

But having “mythic 0” be a weekly affix is already too much. Plus we already get that every so often when it is the dungeon weekly quest which gives heroic raid loot.

Maybe more druids, just bring druids to every dungeon since those hotties will do all the affixes

Affixes are just druid buffs tbh

That’s an awesome design philosophy.

And kiss / curse is inherently flawed as well. Either the kiss is so good you always take it and the curse becomes a tax you constantly have to pay, or it’s not.

So best case, the kiss isn’t worth it and the whole thing is irrelevant. Worst case, the kiss is mandatory and game play takes a unmitigable hit as the curse becomes an unavoidable nag nag nag.

There’s no affixes every day… Just do lower keys.

Kiss curse doesn’t have to be a interactive choice for players to constantly choose punishment.

It could just be passive effects that change the way mobs are fought.

Like let’s say trash does more damage but now cast abilities twice as slow.

Or all trash mobs in combat share a health pool but take 30% more damage.

Stuff like that.

There should be a season of no affixes so everyone can see how much better it is. TWW needs to have an affix overhaul for M+.

A kiss/curse mechanic usually means the dungeon is tuned harder to account for the bonus you may have, but most players will do the mechanics wrong and only suffer the curse, making the dungeon double harder. Look at thundering. Most groups I’ve been in either cleared the thing as it spawned, negating the bonus, or didn’t do it at all, getting stunned and complaining they died.

And then people will ask for an affix where the monsters just greet you at the entrance with candy and flowers, and there’s a treasure chest with all their loot.

(And then people will complain there isn’t ENOUGH loot in the free and friendly chest.)

We have no affixes every week…they’re called normal and heroic dungeons.

What about a week of POSITIVE affixes?

Ideas:

  1. Mobs attacks don’t damage armor and each blow will repair damaged armor instead.
  2. When killed, final boss gives free mog changes when clicked on.
  3. Torghast Week, 2 positive anima powers are given to each player at start, but not shown what they are.
  4. Final boss room becomes a portal room after he is killed, with major city portals and a few that don’t exist (portal straight to BMAH NPC for example)
  5. Beat a VERY hard time, on an M+ level your toon has not done, and get a “Fix the Affix” toy that lets you turn off affixes for M+ levels everyone in your party has done 10 times previously.

Those are more this good or that good.

Not this good with that bad.

I think the prime example of kiss curse was corruption from BfA. Was pretty much the fundamental concept behind the whole system.

First couple of weeks… It was interesting and fun.

Third week… Getting a little tired of running out of this circle.

Two months… Very sick of running out of this gawd damn circle every 10-20 seconds.

Four months… This is the most annoying mechanic they’ve ever added. Done with this.

I suspect kiss/curse is more of a developer justification to add player power not accounted for in the original designs. The problem is your always adding a bad that wasn’t there before. Always a curse. And if it ends up part of the core game play that bad ends up being a constant nag.

Works for a little while but in the end it wears players out, causes them to unsubscibe sooner, causes them not to come back.

And that’s the fundamental problem with affixes. They’re all negatives that drive people away from keys. Healer I’ve run with since vanilla and run keys with since BfA, She’s about had it with them. Used to run keys at least 5 times a week. Barely logs on to run them once a week now. And her main complaint is dealing with the affixes.

Change affixes out for something else “challenging” and it’ll be the new hated thing.

Theyre not meant to be pleasant. Theyre meant to be present problems

Because then M+ would actually be fun to heal for once and can’t have that.
