Since Cata Classic is just Retail- not Classic+ it would be nice to be allowed to transfer our classic characters over to retail since that is the game mode they are in now and just be done with it. I stopped playing for about 10 yrs after Cata returning at the end of Shadowlands so it would be no different to logging in to those toons after that time. I think it’s time to start allowing the merge so to speak.
What’s the point in transferring a Level 20 character?
That was just what was logged when I made the post. I have a couple mains that I’d like to transfer with achieves/mounts etc. Just seems pointless to keep playing them when it’s just a lesser version of retail now. All that was classic and different is gone now with Cata. Anything that can be done in Cata Classic can also be done in retail so what’s the point in investing in that version still is my point.
How would you go about transferring the characters from one game to another?
I’m also confused because you hadn’t played in 11 years from 2022, which would line up with Cataclysm.
So dont. Just go play retail.
They clearly don’t have a dedicated staff for Cataclysm.
They don’t want to invest the time or resources to do anything for cataclysm
If they keep going this route people will keep unsubscribing, player count is a joke vs what wrath was.
The amount of bugs that exists right now vs wrath is INSANE.
New dungeon modes?, they don’t even have any new fixture or mechanics or difficulty…
wrath did 10000% better than this in all metrics
why would they allow us to transfer to retail with unobtainable gear/titles/mounts from classic? that would likely piss off a lot of retail players.
I think anyone could have told you player count was going to plummet after Wrath. For all my friends who love classic, WoW is a trilogy and it ended after Wrath. There’s not as much nostalgia or glory days to relive post Wrath.
Personally, I love retail. DF was the first xpac I played end to end, and I’m still playing. I think a lot of that is due to reconnecting with old friends who still play and making new friends to play with.
If you have a group of chill people you enjoy playing with, you SHOULD try retail together. Things are different, people are still salty, but if you set your own goals (and accept that if you’re not a top tier player you won’t get top tier gear) and have like minded folks to play with, it’s a blast. My guild has a mix of people who play wow every day and raid loggers. Some people get a little carried (people getting top end gear in vaults cause the pumpers drag em through a +10 key) but it’s all good. The raid loggers are fine being carried here and there, they’ve got a lot going on. The pumpers like helping out and playing with their friends.
Overall my point is, I’m sorry to hear classic folks aren’t happy. Don’t play if you’re not having fun. I don’t know if a “transfer” is feasible with the current game tech, but if blizz awarded any at max level in classic a character boost for retail? Hell yeah, the more the merrier.
You’d get level squished if you did, your level 85 would probably not even be level 40.
Although I would like to be able to send my classic characters stuff. I have material piled up on retail that I could use for my tailoring on classic. I am joking, but sometimes I see my retail bank and wish I had that amount of of classic.
Achievements, titles, mounts, that are no longer obtainable in Retail…
What title, achievement, or mount are you getting at level 20 that is no longer obtainable in retail?
Why is level 20 a restriction? What am I missing? What is this topic?
And I’m not sure. You could have gotten some titles in Classic, like Sargent in PVP that I don’t think you can get in Retail anymore.
If you look REALLY close, you’ll see that they first posted on a Level 20. Hence why I asked my question to them.
Oh, that doesn’t matter. People can post on any of the toons they play. That doesn’t mean that that is the actual poster.
Thank you for the rundown of how forums work. Edited for sarcasm.
Although, the second part of this comment doesn’t make sense.
His saying it doesn’t mean that the level 20 toon OP is using to post with is their main.
Which OP had already explained.
Yes… I grasped what he was trying to say.
If you look, you’ll see I mentioned the level 20 character BEFORE the OP came on with a higher-level avatar.
I was more referring to the person you are replying to since they are responding to the same post you just mentioned.
You responded to mine.
Because I responded to
The 2nd part of my response was actually an edit I did a few mins after. Hoping Snipy would see it.
