We really need more fully account wide things

I think it will encourage more people to try out more alts and collectors play more often.

I wish I could funnel all my currencies to one toon. I am mostly thinking about OLD content currencies here, although Shadowlands introduced many, many currencies. I farm a lot of old stuff and wish they would either make one universal currency, or make it so you can transfer currencies to a single toon. Or however you wish.

Not just currencies but items that are sitting in my bank that are interesting or special but do not qualify as toys.

Also, in Destiny 2 your characters share a “bank” which is nice, there are a few signature weapons I love using on all three of my characters and it’s nice that they can all use them. I doubt all gear in WoW would ever be BoA instead of just soulbound… but it sure would be nice, especially for someone like me who plays a handful of leathermen.

Sadly it wont ever happen. We have taken steps toward maybe getting account wide gold with the removal of faction specific auction houses. But the auction houses economy is still decentralized.

But I think everything should be account wide. Shadowlands has just hammered this home to the extreme. we are time gated in so many ways. Ion said people enjoy farming rep thats why the reputation grinding metric is so high! because we LOVE it!!! um… NO. We do it because we have to not because we want to.

I think crafting recipes from vendors should be BOA so you only need to farm the rep to buy them on 1 person. Transmog should unlock regardless of your armor class this would save a lot of time on farming transmog and fix some of the terrible issues in relation to shadowlands examples oh this rare drops a polearm but its a hunter polearm so warriors cant even get it to drop.

anima, greatful offerings, stygia, valor, anima-touched weapon fragments etc etc etc just to name a few of this expansions lovely forms of time gating and so much stuff just locked behind quest chains that dont open up account wide access

AH is already faction wide has been for awhile. Lol.

They do dip their toes in it from time to time in a roundabout way. Right now we can mail anima and other sl currencies to alts.

I do believe that they don’t want to do this full force. If they do indulge us in more account whide things they will do it grudgingly and slowly.

Honestly, why isn’t it a thing already? Actual time gating?

I think they have made completionism such an alt focused experience that they have to make more things account wide.

Reputations come to mind immediately.

I used to like the one-main concept, due to so many things not being account wide, but it’s old at this point. I would like to see more things be made account wide.

“You’re not playing an account-- you’re playing on a character!”

“If this game isn’t as close to my D&D group as I’d like it to be I’m going to write a 5000 word twit longer about how this game is dead”

In my opinion all items acquired from previous expansions should be Bind On Account.

But, as with so many other things, this reduces the amount of time that players have to put into the game to get the rewards they are looking for, so it therefore violates the foundational design philosophy behind the game.

Or, to put another way:

The players want fun to come before MAUs.

The developers want MAUs to come before fun. In fact fun is almost an afterthought.

It drives almost everything in game now. And it’s getting wearying.

I totally get how some players line up their alts and do certain achieves from dungeons on each one, often going back and soloing old raids, but personally, I would like the option to send rep vouchers to alts. For example, if I’m exalted with a group, my word should be good enough to recommend my fighting partner for their own reputation. Pandaria had a convoluted mess that did this, but it really should just be BOA rep vouchers that buy from the factions. WOD had the sellable rep vouchers that I purchased for all my alts, or received from the tables.

They should make gear bind-on-account instead of soulbound.

Would be really nice when we upgrade gear if we could send our old stuff to our alts as hand-me-downs, rather than just vendoring them.

From a role-playing perspective, soulbound is silly anyways. Literature is filled with heroes giving things to their friends/allies/squires.

If they don’t want us to be endlessly mailing stuff around, just have a Great Forge or something where we can take Soulbound gear and do something to it to make it BoA. If we want to send it again afterwards, we have to do whatever at the Great Forge again to do it a second time.

It just sucks putting a lot of time and effort into getting something, and then once you’re done with it, it’s just “well, that’s another 76g48s”.

100% agree that bloated systems used solely to increase overall endgame grind by a ton have utterly demotivated alts for a ton of players

nope it would do the opposite for me

This is one of the things I liked about Rift. And in Old Republic, many currencies are account wide.

We need a server wide, cross faction bank that holds BoA, BoE, mats, gold, everything.

No.

You are playing a character, not an account. Nothing in the game should be account-wide.

If you are not willing to put in the time, effort and energy into an activity on a character, then you don’t deserve the rewards/accolades from it on that character.

Also, I actually enjoy the playing the game so I would prefer not having any more play time taken away from me, like having account-wide mounts, mog, ect does.

And I like to develop my characters separately so I prefer not having any more unearned, unwanted and unsuitable rewards available to them or accolades assigned to them.

It blows me away how many people playing a MMOPRG have, at best, no care or respect for the RP aspects of the game or, at worse, are actively so anti-RP that they try to sabotage it.

After playing final fantasy, I love the job concept over the character concept.

I wanted to play an alt this weekend but because of quests I’ve already done and dailies I already do once, I just couldn’t do it.
