We need to talk about RRTS (Random Rotating Tank Syndrome).

I understand having to re-adjust. I understand moving things from puddles. I understand getting knocked back. I understand switching tanks.

What I don’t understand is why some Main tanks rotate the boss randomly (with no cause) all the while yelling at the DPS to stay behind the boss because of the cleave. (meanwhile they just shaved off 3/4ths of the melee’s total dps)

Is it one too many knocks to the head? Is it a random disability brought about from choosing to play a tank? Or are these tanks just being jerks?

Please let me know.

Two things;
1-As an ex-tank, I noticed I couldn’t adjust even an inch without the 75 ton dragon grossly overcorrecting to follow me. And then I’d have to move to compensate for that, and the cycle continued. That still needs fixed.
2-If your tank is swinging cleaving bosses around, find a new tank.

The mob over adjusting is so damn annoying.

OMG this. I really hate when things run to my flank for absolutely no reason while i’m tanking.

Hmm so this stems from larger mobs over correcting per player move. That certainly explains a lot. Thank you for that.
Is it possible to just stand still and wait on it to re-correct back to you?

I also noticed that Mob’s pre-programed movements seem to make them appear to be moving much more then they are. Perhaps creating a program with a ring around the mob and a line for the front would help tanks a lot.

Yep. The 3rd boss in temple annoys me to no end. I get it in the corner, then the second i run to the other side it tries to move so it stays on my same side.

It’s won’t correct back.

I have to keep my apms up for the next 500,000 floor icons i need to dodge. Havent you ever seen starcraft pros keeping their apms up?

Ever watch alot of little enemies attacking you at once? They all try to fan out. Tanks spin and strafe back and forth to game the AI to group back up. I myself have this bad habit to always move. Muscle memory from always having to do it. Single boss fights I consciously have to force myself to be still.

I like to keep everyone on their toes.

Seriously though, I have done it to get a better view of the party.

Haha, I prefer to rotate the cleave in to the party too. Much more exciting for the healer. Sometimes I sense the healer is bored.
