What are we supposed to conclude from them being the most popular class? Paladin has always been the most popular class.
Paladins are always beloved in any fantasy.

I mean sac is situational 99% of the time when you are running PuG keys. Typically your better off using lay on hands or even a heal instead of it. Given I typically like to hold it for instances of when I see the tank struggling to stay alive, or the healer struggling to stay alive. I like to use it then just to keep them going given if either fall. Then whatever we’re doing has a high probability of failing.
Typically the issue with the bulk of rets is their not using their holy power properly, building too much and not dumping it enough. Followed by not using their full toolkit to help the group when someone stands in something stupid or what have you.
Try doing actual dungeons with them and you will see why. You need it spelled out for you apparently so I’m sensing you have no idea what’s going on and are just randomly disagreeing, very contrarian.

On the flipside of that though, lets think about the opposite. Do you realize how many buttons you would have to push to activate the dozens of abilities you are talking about? REALLY THINK ABOUT IT! Just the GCD clock alone would pit their DPS into the basement if some or all of these abilities arent automatic.

Unless you’re hunter apparently. Then it’s impossible to go a week of buff without a subsequent nerf.

What is this obsession within the community to tear down a spec once it starts seeing some time in the spotlight. Which ret isn’t even by the way, nobody ranks ret in the same tier as frost dk and other specs at the moment because in high keys (13s, 14s, etc.) ret gets out-scaled AOE wise. So yeah rets will crush 10s, 11s, etc. but then they aren’t nearly as OP further on.

i mean this is just straight up wrong, rets are doing great in “high” keys. it’s the 16s and 17s where its representation falls off
Seems like they want ret paladins to be the Garen of WoW, aka a mechanically braindead pick for new players that gets 80-90% of the throughput for minimal effort but a lower overall cap than high skill-cap picks like enhance or arcane.
