DO WE need to talk about Ret Paladins?
They were pretty good picks in 2 Seasons of DF (3 and 4).
But if we’re having to go back to WoTLK and TBC before that I am pretty sure my point is very clear.
Didn’t know that. When I started playing it, my first thought was that it’s a support spec, especially with the 2 min wings where you had windows of just auto attacking + ofcourse the mediocre damage. But since they started changing it feels like Blizz wants it to be a damage dealing spec but try to not give it too much considering the offheals and all shields.
Honestly Rey paladin is how I would expect most classes to play.
Simple. Easy to understand.
No calculator needed (unlike havoc DH these days). Ret ease should be the goal of the other specs. None of this convulsions of mini windows within windows. Ret is fun for a reason right now. And it’s not just it’s dps. Other classes definitely do more damage.
Retribution really shines when it comes to utility. It’s a pity too few players actually use the toolkit. I ran with several this past week on my Shaman and the bulk of them didn’t cleanse the Xal debuff off themselves or others, didn’t use LoH on teammates with dangerously low HP, nor touch their blessings.
Retribution is easy to play, but the difference between a “meh” Ret player and a great one is like night and day and it’s not just down to damage done.
Make Divine Steed a choice node with that “Heroic-Leap-esk” ability they teased a while back, and we’re in business (for Paladins to feel like holy warriors again).
Personally, I love a lot of the modernization they’re incorporating into class designs now. Playing a minigame of clicking on friendly health bars and unit frames isn’t ideal anymore.
Ret paladin is so good that there was only one in the MDI (that I saw anyway) and the announcers were like “lol why would you bring a Ret Paladin”.
based. 1 too many still imo
Ehh, I didn’t play during BfA, and we don’t talk about [cough][cough]
11 days later you’re still 570 ilvl, oh and don’t blame the armory, you have 0 m+ dungeons or raids done, as can be seen on:

Guess ret wasn’t enticing enough for your liking.
Ret was lolret in tbc, i know because i played it then, getting into groups for heroics was horribly slow.
oh i’ve dropped retail entirely and gone to classic lol
