It doesn’t matter though. This is launch content. T5 gear existed in S1, and there were players who used it. It doesn’t “break” the game releasing launch content at launch.
Like I said before SSC was already cleared at this point of BC. The idea that all players back in the day were bad is just not true. These guys knew how to play the game, they knew how to min-max. The only advantage we have over them is a decade of hindsight, and nerfs. They’ve already cut KT’s advisor’s health in half on the PTR. So we’re not even getting “real” KT as promised.
Back then, 50% cleared kara, 40% were bumbling clicking idiots, 5% attempts some T5 content, 5% cleared some or all of t5 content.
Of those that did or farmed t5 maybe half of them did anykind of pvp. So you have a very small fraction of players with overpowered gear effecting anykind of pvp. It’s insignificant for most battlegroups.
Compare this to players of today. If T5 was relased at launch it would be 70% have cleared and farmed t5 content and 30% still doing kara.
These broken items would be everywhere and have a signicant impact to the little balance holding pvp together. A stormherald would 2 shot a clothie. A rogue with Tier 3 wep and TK offhand mace would wearing full pve gear killing things within a cheapshot. The game would be BROKEN because these items would be everywhere.
THIS is why they gated them behind phases. Should Blizzard have done it this way? Most likely not. They should have take the time to just disable certain items in arenas that are obtained in SSC/TK until season 2.
They shouldn’t have. I don’t think wanting launch content to be in the game at launch is too much to ask. I’m not advocating for SWP now. And I actually think pacing was pretty good in classic with the exception of DM, and BG’s.
Like I said in the OP, what they’re doing now is the equivalent of holding back MC until p2 in classic. It was launch content and belonged in the game at launch. Ony and UBRS would not have held raiders over for months. And suggesting it could have because back in day most people didn’t raid is ridiculous.
I don’t believe you. You’ll be demanding T6 within a month or two of T5.
Kara is part of the intro raids, and replaces MC in your analogy. The only difference is size, several small raid teams instead of the one big one. Otherwise, the current situation is very similar to what it was before BWL came out.
I’m ready for T5, too. But it’ll be here soon enough. Have patience, young one. Play an alt in your spare time.
While I want new content, too, I also don’t want TBC to be over with in 6 months, which it would be if the zoomers had their way. Once it’s done, it’s done. Savor the journey.
100% accurate. Enjoy the game, if you arent enjoying it, take a break until P2 drops. Clearly if all you do is wait for raid content, you will be bored again in 4 weeks after launch of P2.
It should be released when the raids are working as intended. Also, I’m taking a little bit of a break and do other things. Your life doesn’t have to be wow 24/7. You could also level an alt and do some raid content on that character too.
Phase one classic was just ony and MC, phase 2 was just world bosses and the pvp system. There was just as much content drought in classic, get over it.
It is absolutely comparable. T5 was launch content. It wasn’t added in a patch 6 months down the road like BWL was, or BT was in BC.
And you’re not taking into consideration that SSC was already cleared at this point in BC. T4 was never designed to last 6 months as the premier raid tier. T5, and T6 on the other hand were, as was every raid tier in vanilla.
Asking for launch content to be released close to launch is not too much to ask.
for one, this isn’t BC. this is another model based off it to give players like you something to do if you don’t like retail. it’s all about the almighty dollar… bottom line.
