We need sharding

A few people say they don’t want it, but trust me- a majority of players dont want to be frustrated in starting zones or any zones where it is too busy.

Here is the workaround for those people and it is simple- party up and you and your friends wont be shared. Seems simple to me…

The masses of people who will play classic but don’t post. Take that to the bank. BRosephus.

So…you have no source for this assumption. Gotcha.

Report and move on.

Your crusade to report unpopular opinions to get the thread deleted wont work this time.

Ah, so it is just an opinion. No facts here, just wishful thinking and antagonism.

Wrong. Just an opinion. If you feel antagonized that is on you. Open forum…

The sharding has less to do with player experience and more to do with server stability. Even if you get around traffic at the 1-10, if you plan on leveling quickly you are going to hit a massive crowd in the next area no matter what.

I honestly don’t mind the idea of sharding in the starting areas, but I am not advocating it’s necessity because of player experience.

Cool, than I’m free to tell you that your opinion sucks and doesn’t represent the majority.

Agreed kind sir

Edit: fatewever- of course you can say that! That’s what an open forum is all about. Have at it. I know you are wrong, but have at it.

Sharding is for server stability and performance. Not making questing easier.

No, you don’t.

If you need to couch it on those terms fine. The results are the same. Stability and ease of questing fit like a glove

Wrong.

Shard 200 people per shard and see how those quests go for you.

Uhm this argument makes no sense.

I’ve been playing on the northern pserver lately and I have to say, a lot of the quests I’ve completed that were a little too difficult to solo have been completed because I invited a random stranger in the area for help and they accepted the request. With sharding, I wouldn’t have even known the dude was there to invite and would’ve had to rely on zone chat in the hopes someone was listening. Orgimmar also has a metric :poop: ton of players hanging out in it with zero stability issues.

Having said all this, I’m not opposed to sharding in the opening 1-6 zones so we can at least see the mobs within the crowd. The 6-10 zones (and beyond) shouldn’t have it.

Then you must not understand what sharding is and how it works.

Sorry, but if they put sharding into classic (aside from the initial rush, where I can sorta understand why)… it’ll 100% destroy classic. Classic is all about community and nothing destroys community than technology that ensures that you rarely interact with the same people again…

I’d also be ok with what Lux said. Sharding in the starter 1-6 zones, but beyond that… nope.
