Premade v premade in phase 1 was by far the most enjoyable time in all of SoD. We need a competitive PvP mode. Make all the rewards cosmetic, I don’t care. With neither premades nor a competitive pvp mode WoW just becomes a boring raid log fest after the first 2-3 clears of a raid. PvP is what keeps this game fresh throughout a phase.

I actually like the idea.
Add some flavor to PVP by adding premade vs premade ranked matches. Let people name their teams, throw up a basic leaderboard posted outside the AHs so everyone can check it out (see which group and faction is the best this week) and let people compete

I’m not opposed to it but I’d be surprised if it had a high participation rate unless there was a substantial reward.
PvP participation is on the decline across many games.
Hell, they opened up Crusader Strike transfers to a PvE server and had to shut it down fast due to mass exodus and fear of killing the server and flooding another.
If you polled players - they probably wouldn’t even do battlegrounds if it wasn’t for the rewards being bis this phase, or the convenience of it.
Just my observation - I say this as someone who is frustrated at finding people to pvp with 
The BiS PvE reward is why pug wsg is so miserable. So many pve zuggers who barley even try and give up at the slightest inconvenience and/or go afk because they only care about bracers. Segregating PvP gear and PvE gear like in TBC was neccessary for the game.
I don’t think this sort of thing fits in SoD, as it creates scenarios where only a few specific comps are meta and many people will be left out. It was a nightmare to hit 2200 as a hunter when I did due to how under performing they were at the time. I don’t remember what expansion it was, but I could see the same thing happening 10x more in SoD depending on what classes were the best performing ones.

Make a group rank que, META will change with buffs and nerfs. Make a separate random solo rank, it will keep class comp unpredictable like HOTS solo que is, never know what you will get and keeps it interesting with very little updates over the years.
I would love solo shuffle too. =)
I’m only doing BGs because it’s an alternate gearing path, you know, one I can do solo. I don’t like raiding in WoW anymore, I just don’t find it fun anymore, if I had to sum up raiding, I would say it feels like hitting a meat shield for an hour. In Retail it feels like running in a circuit while hitting a meat shield. A lot of it is the tab target combat, tab/mouse over healing (omegalul) and the lack of vertical movement (we have levitating priests, teleporting mages, flying dracthyr fairies and literal demon hunters, but you don’t actually go vertical in fights, it’s dumb now. It would be like if in DBZ they just never went up into the air or if in Avengers Infinity Wars every single thing was just running in track shoes.)
I would rather hit meat shields in Fallout 76 to be honest with you. I’d rather just play 76 than do PVE in WoW altogether. WoW PVE is butt cheeks right now, not even Mythic raiders think its good.
Man if they add RBGs that would be amazing. I wonder if they have the technology
classic with competitive elements is just a DoA formula. This isn’t a competitive game nor was ever structured as such, it will be P2W by the second week with the amount of consumables you would need to play it remotely well. Retail fails to do the job and is million times better equiped for it than classic will ever be lol.
So basically no, I don’t care about RBGs since they are not a solo type of thing and force me to lead or fish around for groups, not worth it, no time for it.
If you are looking for a solo game you are playing the wrong version of WoW.
I havent been into pvp in some time, but I’ll toss my hate in the ring for you and support your request. I dont feel it breaks the classic era feel and it does give players something else to do. Yeah, abdolutely. RBGS are a must!

WoW has had the ability for solo players to get loot since OG vanilla, it’s not a “omg youre thinking of a different game” type of thing. It’s just that you were probably in diapers when I was playing OG vanilla so you think you know more than I do.
I was a preteen in OG vanilla, played vanilla in the private server scene, and played classic. The draw is it’s an old school mmo predicated on socialization. You did claim you want a game that caters to solo play, and vanilla is just not that. Of course you can, but it puts you at a disadvantage.

You implied pretty heavily you don’t want something to be in the game because it’s not “solo play”. If it’s just personal indifference thats another thing entirely (though was not clear from your post), but point stands old school WoW was not made for solo play.
