Hello, if you think this is a great or bad idea please post a reply or a simple +1 for your sick P-C.
CW is in big need of a lot of QOL updates and if we don’t try out best to make the game it’s own unique brand it won’t get far. We all love the fact it’s “Classic WoW” but unless we try out best to polish the game and keep it an amazing piece of art it’s just going to destroy it’s self.
Anyways out of the countless ideas we could try I certainly think one of the easiest could be adding in refreshed loading screens that still have the outdated textures and logos.
A big fat “Classic” At the bottom of the wow logo would do it great, also make them HD already… I have no idea if it’s just me but all of the loading screens are soooo low resolution
Why would you want high resolution load screens that are better graphics than the game itself? The original loading screens fit the client graphics.
Also, Classic isn’t getting QoL changes – one of the most adamant requests from players, and acknowledged by the developers, was the desire to preserve the original game without QoL changes. Layering was added as a mechanical quality change, and even that will be removed over time.
Classic isn’t going to get development resources to make it a “unique brand” until it begins to generate profits separate from the retail client. So slap on a sub cost for Classic alone, and then you can start asking for development resources to be allocated.
The game is pretty buggy in a lot of areas and if we do not try our best to adapt CW to become it’s own brand and name it simply will not live out as long as people truly want it to.
We have a chance to bring back all of the people we have lost over the years and if we want to keep them in the long run, for both games, then we will create CW as it’s own IP.
First off all we need to do is make the loading screens slightly better, not that hard nor do we have to make something ten times better than the games current graphics.
Also again this game simply will not be able to keep all of the players we want back if we do not adapt and try our best like OSRS did. The game is very buggy and extremely easy for a lot of people. Content will die out for many people and if we do not try our best to keep them hooked on this title then they will leave and never come back once again.
It’s not hard as a game developer to look at past examples and learn from the past.
The game as it stands is no where near polished nor close to perfection. We have a long way to go but we can do it for sure.
Again, without it’s own income stream, this game isn’t going to diverge from the path that leads to retail. Nor was this ever the goal – this isn’t “correct the mistakes of the past” it’s just a mirror into that past.
“We” have been saying “u think you do but you dont” for a while. And though I am LOVING classic, I also played vanilla from day one, so I knew/know what to expect and I accept what Classic is and understand what it isn’t.
What I can’t stand is the people who won’t accept Classic for what it is/was.
All these “Please fix” threads.
No, working as intended.
Unless it’s an actual bug or an intended Classic feature is truly broken… NO, no, no. Just stop.
By that logic, we don’t need cinematics cause it has better graphics then the game itself.
I fail to see how a Loading screen change counts as a QoL feature. Going by that logic, the new updated interface in Classic is an QoL feature cause it’s not using the 2006 ui textures.
The resolution of the loading screens was not my answer to his QoL request (the Also, gives it away). You spliced that response out of its context to fit your own.
Well Mea Culpa if i’ve offended anybody for how i go about my forum-surfing. Let me start from the bottom and work my way to the top cause i’m a man to cop to my mistakes.
Cause they look (subjectively) better and we have widescreen 16:9, 16:10 and something:something widescreen monitors,. Plus i doubt having these will harm your gameplay experience. And i would imagine it wouldn’t be too hard to recreate in 16:9.
…But the interface ui textures don’t.
I ask you cause i’m pretty sure Vanilla doesn’t use the retail interface textures (the transparent windows in retail).
(i did say i’l work my way from bottom to top, but i skip over the “Classic isn’t getting QoL changes” comment cause i have nothing else to say, it essentially just boils down to you saying “#nochanges.”. Again, weird hashtag for all things considered. )
Ahh Layering, the best version of Sharding Blizzard have ever built. (which i still hate.)
I personally think they shouldn’t use that since were not using calculators for computers anymore and Blizzard should learn from their and other companies launches and do better, but fine.
That just reeks of bad idea personally speaking, cause this would split more people by charging extra for classic like it’s another sub based mmo, punishes people who enjoy both games by paying more to enjoy both games and it would impact Classic and Retail due to a large divider. Would it make Blizzard more money? Yea. Would People be happy and accepting that a thing that was once free is now charging the same price as retail but if you want to enjoy both you have to pay extra?..
“Classic isn’t going to get development resources to make it a “unique brand” until it begins to generate profits separate from the retail client. So slap on a sub cost for Classic alone, and then you can start asking for development resources to be allocated.”
I for one only got BFA so I could play classic, I also added an account for my son.
So there 32 bucks BFA is getting that Classic is actually generating.
I don’t disagree with your intent on the general subject matter, but don’t think your argument is solid.
World of Warcraft is a service, now with two platforms. Blizzard will support both heavily if they are smart to keep generating optimal revenue.
