We need new pvp targetting identifiers

I propose:

  • @healer1: Targets the healer with the lowest “partyX” number in your group.
  • @healer2
  • … @healer10
  • @dps1: Targets the DPS with the lowest “partyX” number in your group.
  • @dps2
  • … @dps10
  • @tank1
  • @tank2
  • …@tank10
  • @enemyhealer1: Targets the enemy healer with the lowest “arenaX” (or whatever) number in the enemy team.
  • @enemyhealer2
  • … @enemyhealer10
  • @enemydps1
  • @enemydps2
  • … @enemydps10
  • @enemytank1
  • @enemytank2
  • … @enemydps10

These need to be paired with the following options:

  1. Sort enemy team numbers by role.
  2. Sort your party by role. (Though this already exists, it doesn’t actually ensure that party1 and party2 are in the order you see in your UI. It works 90% of the time but not all the time)

Specs and classes should also have a deterministic priority over each other, perhaps by alphabetic order, such that as Frost DK will always be @dps1 and a Windwalker will always be @dps2

WHY?

  1. We could make @arena1, @arena2 and @arena3 macros more consistent because you could always target the healer instead of having to change that every match. This is a little bit of QOL that also makes arena easier for literal noobs getting started.
  2. It’s flat out lazy and outdated that party numbers are key for macros but are random/based on when you loaded in.

I actually don’t have any more numbered reasons, I didn’t think this far ahead

Anyways I know this will never be implemented in the base UI and probably not even by an addon but nonetheless I yell into the void

I don’t PVP so pardon me butting into the discussion, but all of this sounds like an addon someone needs to make. Just my two coppers. Carry on.

Someone get this man a WA/Addon

Asking again, what’s the addon that puts big arrows or markers on your team. Better if is the ones that mark ur healer aswell. I see all streamers using some variation of it.

no idea but now i want to know too

Also smarttab addon not working :frowning:

These are somewhat achievable with addons currently, but I’d love to see this happening. I’d wish to see DR trackers, CD trackers baked into the base UI too, but I don’t think the current devs know what is useful to have in the arenas even though suggestions are made.

I have the add on but can’t remember what it’s called. Respond to this in a few days and I can remember to check the next time I’m by my computer.

Okay, circling back to this, did we find out what it’s called? I’m old and blind sometimes (often).

I think there is only one in curseforge so idk. Would be a non-issue if there wasnt so many trashmobs in arena

It’s a weak aura:

Just go here:
https://wago.io/the-war-within-weakauras/pvp
(and choose one of the 5 variations)
and also pick up some other good weak auras for PVP (such as healer in CC)

This one is the most popular (Arena friendly markers):
https://wago.io/VFamz_5Sx

There is also a separate addon:
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/sweepyboops-arena-helper
which does pretty much the same.

This would be too good to be true, one can dream

Thanks, was browsing through wago last night. Forgot weak auras was a thing.

They are pretty much taking over the scene at both PVE and PVP.

Some people are now playing with fully WeakAura-based UIs (including frames, bars, etc.) and more and more addon authors prefer to create WAs than fully-fledged addons, whenever applicable.

The PVP section I linked has some great ones

I’ll be using them. Really helpful.

mood, my UI is mostly weakauras. I literally just copy Luxthos’ weakauras for my class and call it a day

I also play with a (heavily modified) Luxthos UI and have my action bars hidden all the time.

Some people frown upon it, because there are “too many blinking things”, but I like them a lot. Luxthos does a great job IMO

Yo thanks, I thought u were talking nonsense but I googled it
