We need more then 50 toon per account

Taxes are not Blizzards fault… that is the government’s need to tax everything to death so they have give out free stuff.

This is what started this conversation - not sure if you didn’t agree with the original statement why you didn’t just stop the derailment train at the time instead of saying this.

And it isn’t an arbitrary limit of characters. If you can’t understand that the amount of storage space required for every character everyone ever made in this game from the start must be immense then any discussion really is pointless.

There have been over 100 million WoW accounts created since the start and most of those have one or more characters on them - almost all of those accounts are still around regardless if someone stopped playing them years ago.

Actually, you are wrong. This is what I was responding to and context matters:

Yes, 50 character limit is an arbitrary number. It has no meaning in terms of a player’s gaming “health”.

Also, we could debate all day about the actual cost of data storage, but really that is irrelevant to the point I was making in my initial response.

I just went back and linked your response, I am very well aware of what proceeded that. I just don’t understand why you responded the way you did and then when someone responded to your statement about it isn’t up to blizzard you went around in circles back to the start. Seems it would have been easier to just address what you thought was wrong in the first place instead of sidetracking things into a different discussion.

This is exactly what I did.

really by saying it isn’t up to blizzard to set limitations ? odd way of doing that in my opinion, if what you mean is that is it pointless for blizzard to set limitations because people can’t be controlled, but whatever.

Blizzard can’t regulate a player’s gaming habits in anyway was the point I was making. Maybe the wording was not quite right or was confusing.

Either way, let’s get back to the topic…

Fifty characters per account is more then enough for me. I only really play one of each class and only just started levelling more for heritage armour but once they unlock it that’s it. I have no attachment to them after that.

Shame to see so many get so defensive and even aggressive to my replies.

That’s because you are dismissive and arrogant most of the time.

…huzzah…

Wow, actively playing 50 Characters. Must be nice to have that kind of time to play the game.

I think 50 is a good cap. I can’t even imagine having 50 characters. I have 23 characters over 5 servers, 10 (horde), 10 (alliance), 1, 1, 1 Of those characters 3 are used on other servers for AH pets buying and selling. On my main two servers I maybe play 5 or 6 characters actively. The others I have leveled for their professions and that is what they are used for, their professions.

When warfronts are up I will run them through them to get the main quest reward then park them again. Or play them when the WQ Emissary is one of the gold rewards.

I would rather to be able to move my 10 from the one server to the other server for a discounted price so I could have all of my characters on one server. But moving 10 characters @ 35.00 a pop, not enough overtime at work to justify that. Would be nice since they did away with the max number of characters you can have an a single server, to allow people to do a “mass” move of characters for a lower price.

Yes, I enjoy playing two subscriptions.

I don’t do instances/dungeons on both at once, but always quest with two characters.

I often have one set to tank if possible, and once in a while switch one to heals if needed for a difficult elite.

Basically I put easiest toon to play on left computer, and put the healer or more complicated one on right side.

Left hand hitting Tab then 1, 2, 3 buttons mainly and really spend most of my time focussing on right computer. The one on right has healing or Rez, so don’t want that one to die. Left hand could be arcane mage doing major damage with one button and the mog will die before run out of mana or BM hunter easy DPD while toon on right may be picking up mogs and occasionally healing other char if necessary, as an example.

You can also move gold between factions more easily etc.

I don’t think a single person said they had level 10 or 30 characters they were considering as part of the “50” they needed. But if they did have some level 10’s or 30’s and rp’d on them occasionally, is that not “playing”?

You tell me how a player would have to play their toons to make them eligible to keep them. List the different playstyles that qualify.

Me, too. It makes no sense to run only one character at a time if you have 2 accounts.

I usually run 2 tanks, but I have healers I have used at times.

I have 2 windows open on the same computer, staggered so that the main window is at the upper left of the screen, the minor one at the lower right. Since all my action bars and are on the right and bottom of the screen, that means while playing my main character I can see the minimap of my minor character and access all buttons for the minor one with a click. Then I can just click back and be on my major character again. It’s great when I want to be in 2 places at a time, because I can do that.

Profession stuff is the big deal for me. I can sell things from my crafter on one faction to myself on the other faction.

And honor. Honor earned while playing 2 characters at the same time adds to the total.

Have you listed the different playstyles that would qualify to make a player eligible to keep their characters rather than being forced to delete them and then having to reroll immediately to make you happy?

Try to make the list complete so it can be discussed rather than “prove to my satisfaction that you play all these characters [according to my unstated requirements] every [unstated time period].”

I also have females one account and males the other account for the most part. The second account was originally my daughter’s, but she stopped playing in Wrath when she was about 10. She was getting into it too much and her mom forbade her from playing anymore. I wasn’t allowed to play if the girls were up and awake, so I generally just played Sat/Sun morning or after others went to bed.

She may pick it up again at some point.

I’ve been hoping for so many years for this. Now with allied races…well I only had slots left for some of them. A second account is out of the question. Deleting high or max-level characters is out of the question. Paying for a race-change is out as well, since you don’t get the heritage armor. Only hope is an increase in slots. Number of players is way down…there should be plenty of space.

Come to think of it…If they increased the total number of characters allowed, I’d 100% buy the expansion, even if it is as boring as BfA.

when you have 50 characters you finish the game

I see your point, but that doesn’t really stand if you consider you could just stop your subscription and Blizz will nevertheless still maintain all of your characters in their servers, regardless of whether you pay or not.

in last expansions there are moments that did not become content.

  • Draenor I remember a guy who had 100 characters in level 100
when there is no content … many upload characters
