Ok, explain your solution then.
That’s not true and you know it.
I’ve pug tanked my 10x m+ this and had little to no issues with dps players.
Also, it would be a boon for guild groups too since there are 2 tanks to 8-28 non tanks via raid comp.
That’s not true and you know it.
There are more than enough tanking and healing specs in the game. If people treated strangers with common decency than there also wouldn’t be an issue with filling pugs with said tanks and healers.
I’m assuming how blizzard can address the social problem of not enough pug tanks?
Adding in their own raiderio will help
Removing prideful and other punishing affix for mispulls etc
We could have a Graham’s Number of tank and healer specs. There’d still be a tank and healer shortage because it’s not the specs that are the problem.
For those who don’t know Graham’s Number: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham%27s_number
You expect me to be nice to random strangers?
Did I set the bar too high?
So dps can be a problem huh?
Yeah, I think I healed a couple as mistweaver but I’ll que as whatever roll(monk pun) gets me in a dungeon the fastest. But ultimately not a lot of issues. But it’s a pretty good week.
Yeah but my routes are dummy resistant to minimize the pug effect. No fancy MDI stuff.
Then perhaps you’re starting to see reason, the solution is to keep dummies at bay.
It’s not the class, it’s the role. While there may be a limited few who would play a tank or healer if it was suddenly available on their main, I can’t see this being a significant number.
Worse, people HATE it when you change the role they preferred on their class. I’m still salty about losing ranged SV hunter. You would upset more people than not.
Every class in the game could have a tank spec and the vast majority of people still wouldn’t do it.
you’ll get the odd reply “if only ____ could tank, I’d tank all the time”
which is a giant load of BS. they’d tank once or twice, then go back to the path of least resistance. Or just tank for their friends when they discover that tanking for pugs really is pretty awful.
No one is making you pug.
right. but that’s where the bulk of the “tank shortage” complaints come from.
I think you missed the context zul and I were having.
I’ve seen complaints about pug and non pug tank shortages. We might even see more complaints about pugs because when people can’t get a guild group they turn to pugging. But only complain about pugs.
I think they should increase dungeon group size to address the lack of tanks. Get more dps in the dungeon per tank. Zul thinks that “more pugs more problems” but he doesn’t have to pug.
The discussion is about pugs.
I’m questing while reading, so that’s always possible
yea, but his point is, making things worse for pug tanks, isn’t going to make more people inclined to tank, and would likely make people less inclined.
I’m not vehemently opposed to the idea but,
I don’t see blizz breaking their dungeon group size
I don’t think it would be the fix people are hoping, when the source of the problem is largely social (though design largely at fault)
this season’s affix, incoming damage (has been addressed, but… damage is done), rigidity of routes, etc… those are all design issues that contributed to the tank scarcity. But the social aspects contribute as well.
I just finished leveling a prot warrior by dungeon spamming,. and hoooooooooooooo boy. pugs can be awful.
