It a well documented and studied phenomena where keeping moral high in tough situations leads to better results.
Why cant pvpers understand this for games? Its soooooo annoying seeing that debbie downer go “gg” after the first team fight is lost.
There so delusional that they feed the “most matches can be determined by the first teamfight” by playing worse and thinking ohh im right i always loose if we loose the first teamfight.
Premades excluded (even tho i have won a game against a premade during an epic bg which was honestly the most fun epic ive ever joined in. The cheers man the cheers) all rated blitz matches can be won even against bad odds.
There team is better at teamfights in flag carry? Delay and rush flag.
Getting destroyed in caping nodes? Stealth cap moce around, prevent them from capping.
When moral is high even when it starts rough the chances of winning increase drastically. I genuinely judge matches now by how high moral is. The more debbie downers telling gg the more likely to loose. Its like a weird self fulling prophecy for them.
If ur in a loosing streak keep it to urself. Had one fury complaining from the start and then type gg immediately after we lost the first fight. Then complained i was useless as a enhance for objectives but guess who rooted their flag carry and carried the flag all the way for a victory with 20 seconds left on the clock. We broke his loosing streak thankfully cause i wasnt the only one who hadnt given up hope.
You wanna get better? Be delusional think every game is a win. Log off if ur in a loosing streak and cant keep up moral.
PLACEBO FOR THE WIN.

That’s not the problem. It’s the lack of map balance. The fact, i as a healer can crackle kill all the vehicles in epics in mere seconds. The epic bgs are not being balanced to compensate player creep. Lose hangar, leave game. 1 player shouldn’t be able to take out all the dock vehicles for example. Imagine if 1 player could kill all the gunship cannons in seconds and the only viable way to win is running bombs…stupid.
In a world of magic, dragons and other buffoonery, they couldn’t even put 1 anti air turret per a tower.

The thing is a lot of those players while toxic aren’t wrong on certain maps.
In ioc losing hangar means losing the game, it’s only counter is to own it. Once 1 team caps it they just have to spam aoes to hold it. Only takes a handful of defenders to neutralize the siege weapons and even if they ignored them the airship still does more damage.
In WG if you lose the team fight on offense it’s pretty much gg, you’ll rez into a line of demos hurling boulders all over the place. Pinning you in your gy until they either capture that workshop or you run away. By the time you regroup all of your towers are gone.
AV if you wipe on the boss rush you either lose or the game becomes an incredibly long turtle.
Ashran is the only game where I consistently see the team turn the tables after a rough start.

There’s a difference between epic maps and normal maps.
In epics it’s true that most of the time you win or lose according to the first team fight.
In normal maps though most of them have ways you can make a comeback.
And I generally agree with the OP for normal battlegrounds. The greatest predictor of a loss in my experience is if your team has a trash talker on it, because that person will stop playing after 2 minutes and spend the rest of the match tilted in chat instead of playing objectives. It’s hard to win any game 7v8 and that’s essentially what happens.
I think they do this to protect their egos.

LOLOLOLOL my dumb self watched the whole thing waiting to see if my ingame charscter was in it even tho i dont play alliance.
But that is me during any 2v1 since i play alot of enhance and we are good at 1v1s so if its a team i brush it off lol

next time my pug bois lose to AVM & IR i’ll be sure to blame it on MAP IMBALANCE.
next time a premade loses to another premade, its map imbalance not the “wE diDn’T hAvE eVerYoNe”
Placebos are a great mechanism in belief.
‘b!tch, we can take back the Hanger!’
‘fall back to bridge or you’re gay’
‘everyone get your fat a$s to BT, kill the NPCs, build and hit the frontgate!’
‘everyone into SHB now or i’ll put a marker on your head’
with great belief we can achieve greatness over the Acronym Premades

I think it’s because everyone has seen it all already, and most outcomes are kind of predictable at this point, especially in epics. The first team fight is a kind of a litmus test of overall strength. It’s an uphill battle most of the time after losing that.
Also everyone thinks in honor per hour these days, sadly, and very few are actually interested in the process itself.

Had a game of Warsong Gulch a few nights ago.
Our team was not as powerful as the Alliance.
Their Paladin or was it a demon hunter was vicious, I forgot as he was chasing me. Their flag carrier was tough.
We didn’t give up.
Team work, do or die mentality lead us to victory.sore was 3-0.
At the end of the game, one player commented “… How did we win?..”
Another player replied “… I have no idea…”
I was thinking… “ it’s do or die and a bit of luck”

These kinds of games are awesome when it happens.

As a healer I can tell you with consistency whether it’s a gg or not on opening fight. Depends on how balanced the fight is but take gilneas…. Ya get to ww, spamming heals keeping everyone alive. Some ret warrior or dk are in your face entire time and their healers are free casting. Everyone dies you look at the stats board….your heals are ludicrous high and dps isn’t or vice versa. GG
Sometimes it’s just a plain fact it’s not a Debbie downer. Sometimes, rarely, you can come back with some clever gameplay but most often everyone can sense something is missing
Though Gilneas is one of those that is hard to make a comeback on.
not really. the best part about gilneas is you have to actually pvp and beat the other team. 3 node maps is absolutely the best in the world
I like the OP’s attitude. Most days I see at least one game where a lesser-powered team wins an epic BG, because they played the objectives better and generally had that much needed willingness to try well.
Some games the power discrepancy is so wide that one team will simply get run over and there’s very little chance to win. Those are the most boring games but largely due to blizz’s bad design and matchmaking.
im trying real hard to motivate players to play the game, especially when we have the chance to win the game
what infuriates me the most is when i see known syncs’ and anti-sync players giving up, saying “no”
what can i do to teach these kids
There are not enough ways to counter certain captures. Single players can’t really be heroes because everything centers around team fights. I love team fights but team fights are about who can smash the fastest and hardest! In a random game with random players (let’s not talk about the filthy Que synchers for a sec and just pretend the game is random) the game isn’t balanced. So everyone goes to sr and the team who randomly has the best dps or heals wins the team fight and essentially the game. It’s demoralizing because you know you don’t have the players to take back or counter because your dps and heals suck. Everything is centered around s team fights and not about creativity and ingenuity.
Not sure “placebo” is the right term, but I like what the OP is saying. Also, the quote above perfectly describes pretty much every person who constantly complains about “premades” in epic BGs.
After the first team fight is lost, the game is over 80% of the time.
Really? This was 14 mins ago: https ://imgur.com/a/LsZQ1rg People give up too easily.
