talking about dampening at all is dumb. remember the days of ghostcrawler? i know most of you dont. he even once said that dmg has to trump healing at SOME point otherwise nothing dies. games have to end at some point.
so there must be dampening since everything originates from pve, which requires crazy amounts of throughput.
but
dampening could/should be lessened A LITTLE BIT so that life doesnt suck quite so much for the healers.
how long a match runs doesnt matter when you cant find a damn game to begin with. lets not have the cure be worse than the disease, gentlemen. throw some love to healers in VARIOUS ways, not just one way, and lets get this shiz rolling shall we? i mean damn, we all wanna play the game instead of sitting around eh

Majority of healers struggle to move health bars outside CDs with exception to MW who doesn’t really have CDs. Add in dampening and it can be demoralizing trying to heal
Also everyone uses all their cc on healers. I would love to see cc become stronger on DPS whether that mean healers have longer cooldowns on dispel or what. And in return cc lasts half as long on healers.
Frankly I am not a fan of the game design where “all classes have all functionalities”. I don’t know why healers have to do damage, and I don’t know why DPS has to have tons of self-healing. I don’t know why so many classes have stealth, or MS effects. I don’t know why there are multiple classes that can fill the entire screen with pets.
I never thought that was good game design.
As for dampening: I understand its utility, but:
1.) Tone it down. A slight adjustment could be helpful
2.) Solo shuffle immediate dampening is just miserable for healers. It feels like right out of the gate we’re getting hammered by unhealable damage within the first 5 seconds of the match.
What isn’t good game design is requiring a role that few play and fewer enjoy to partake in any group content. Might not be a big deal in PvE, but PvP has less players which is causing a bottleneck.
There have never been an abundance of healers. It’s never been as popular as dps, not even close. Only thing that happened was the already small playerbase that plays arena got split from shuffle.
Like I’ve been LFGing for years and I’m always sitting there looking for a healer. This isn’t a DF issue lol.
They just need to give us an option to save our players from all the burst damage, like a single-target pvp trinket ona 2-3min CD that channels a shield on to our teammate (a quasi immunity).
Outside of giving us an answer to burst, blizz will have to nerf…which is less likely to happen.
Nobody said healers have to do damage, but for those of us who want that as an option, it should at least be feasible. Especially when there are talents in the holy priest tree that specifically focus on enhancing holy damage spells. Unfortunately the implementation of holy priest damage spells is terrible and makes it almost not worth casting those spells in arena. Sure, you can have some fun with them in random noob battlegrounds, but in arena? Good luck. Those talents are better spent to enhance your healing.
