I remember the void used to be demonic. Now any shadow priest enemy will use void lords and hounds.
Imagine the potential if we get to see MORE demons and more varieties!!
I guess that’s why I’ve had enough.
If you don’t like otherworldly beings in a game that has the otherworldly as its core pillar in both story-telling & gameplay, then perhaps so
That being said, we can deal with such threats ON Azeroth too.
We can have both
I agree. Between burning Crusade, warlords, legion, Shadowlands, and plenty of instanced content, I think I’ve had about as much demon content as I can stand for a while. I’m hoping we can continue to avoid the subject as we go into 12.0 and 13.0.
I’m good on demons for a bit.
Been playing a lot of Demo lately, it’s my go-to delve spec for my warlocks. So yeah. No more imps.
I wouldn’t mind at least a little faction friction. Also want to see and learn more about the In Between stuff from SL.
Also … Something tells me that the demon your DH inhabited for its ritual was a very … Specific, kind of demon
Going back to fighting demons in space would be nice. The Burning Legion was the primary antagonists of this setting.
Attempting to replace them is the narrative equivalent of a heart transplant.
Yeah, I’d very much prefer fighting demons on Azeroth than re-visiting Shadowlands content — ANY day.
Especially if the demons & beings of the nether got that whole malevolent & mysterious aspects to them … Although I wouldn’t mind some earie horror vibes to go along with their shenanigans either, like stuff with the undead; flesh-made horrors, demonic empowerment experiments and various diabolical ascension rituals, etc.
We had 2 expansions about demons already.
I might be way off, but I feel like WoW is only really good when demons are involved.
Yes we’ve had two-expansions-about-demons breakfast.
What about third-demon-expansion breakfast?
In all seriousness though I wouldn’t mind if it was just a patch or some odd quests mixed in other content with some mild foreshadowing to greater things here & there
- By “more demon content” – I didn’t necessarily mean a whole entire expansion specifically — but just more content in general.
Having stories regarding & involving demons in company by maybe also adding in narratives that tend to be around their lore, like further mysterious stuff to do with the nether in general — along with the light, void and perhaps even immense magical powers & artifacts, etc.
I could get on my warlock, summon each of my demons one at a time, duel you and let you kill each one! There demon content.
Btw there’s a demon quest in the ringing deeps. Alizabals daughter fled there when dalaram crashed and she got out of the violet hold and she’s been down there killing earthen
Only warlocks and dhs get the quest
Yea this games deathknell can be accurately timed to when Activision decided it and Destiny are just the same game.
theres definitely powerful demons taking control out there, if us azerothian warlocks are able to suck up some of those powerful remnants like pitlords and such, then so can the other demons still out there. having a 2nd legion would be a great excuse for more demon hunter lore too
We’ve already had several demon centric expansions (TBC, WoD, Legion)
Give other races a chance!
Tuskarr Expansion when?
I do enjoy demon related content. Also enjoy undead content. I advocate for more of both.
Getting some void-visuals & empowerment lore for demon hunters would be pretty cool
Or have them be imbued with the power of vast spirit-energies, giving them blue-fire visuals … You could give a questline upon the same lore event, with a different path towards elemental shaman in achieving the same result too — Like perhaps restoring Karabor, or at least chanelling the souls there to transport them to Azeroth and create a new temple akin to it.
I rather like the theory that a void naaru spirit (K’ara AKA The Dark Star) harbors the Black Temple and that’s why it lost its glow & light and is in a constant cursed darkened state — It’d be cool to draw out that naaru and purify it
I would actively encourage them to use that again. But I think they should let the demons take their nap until AFTER Last Titan. The Burning Legion was one of their strongest themes in the game. They weren’t really ruined by being “space demons” They at least are still demons although I am concerned(But still optimistic) they’ll try to whitewash demons, they are meant to be chaotic and destructive so when they come back, try to do more with said destruction(And not the darn imps).
That means Sargeras related shennigans but that might be…well that thought might get outdated in Last Titan depending on what happens.
Like I said up in the comments above, there’s many variations of demons — From true demons, to created or assimilated demons to entities that are simply considered ‘demons’ – because they’re situated in the nether & found around them - but don’t quite fit the bill as the rest do (eg. Voidwalkers).
You got demons that have always been:
- Pitlords
- Felhounds
- Overfiends
- and Observers
Then you got races that were created / assimilated into demons:
- The Eredar
- Satyrs
- Aranasi (speculated)
Those that seem to clasified as ‘demons’ yet are merely mysterious yet: Malevolent, diabolical or volatile & dangerous:
- Voidwalkers
- Voidcallers
- Void Terrors
- Void revenants
And then those that hold attributes to one of the two (or both) from the above, yet are in a somewhat in-between state of not necessarily being what they once were, but still not quite a demon in the complete sense either:
- Demon Hunters
- Fel Orcs
- Felborne
- Voidscarred (Broken Draenei who were later empowered by the void)
- Felblood Elves (Although some might have achieved ‘demon’ status akin to the Eredar)
- and even some warlocks.
Then you got those that are in speculation to whether or not they’ve always been demons or were transformed into such, like:
- The Doomguards (as they were formerly the titans police-force for monitoring fel and sacrificial magics, until Sargeras formed the Legion)
- and whether or not the Sayaad were always demons or assimilated into such due to their great potential.
Ultimately however:
You got quite a wide variety in the sense they may not always be aliens in a sense — but beings from other dimensions, realities – chaotic regions & realms throughout the mysterious nether and sometimes those who were ‘ascended’ or transformed into such states
