Has anyone heard anything about any plans to connect more realms? I think it really needs to be done, specifically with very low pop/dead realms, like Ravenholdt and Twisting Nether. I have characters on Twisting Nether, buuut, it’s like a ghost town over there. I think connecting them to Emerald Dream would be a good idea, since they are/were rp-pvp realms, so the communities would be similar.
don’t worry, more crz will fix it! soon you won’t know where your realm ends and another begins! who needs to see the same folks twice
What if all of the realms that were rp-pvp were connected? I mean, the player base of all of them put together is probably enough for one high pop realm. So that would be Twisting Nether / Ravenholdt / Lightninghoof / Maelstrom / The Venture Co / Emerald Dream. Seems reasonable to me.
I am on Argent Dawn, Horde. We need this so bad. The server is dead. The connection to Scryers didn’t help a bit.
Connecting Twisting Nether to Ravenholdt didn’t help either. Ravenhold was already dead, lol.
This game is long overdue for a massive server consolidation. Trying to bandaid it with this stupid sharding system is not working good.
Most people don’t want to play on dead realms, so they move to high or full realms, which makes the problem even worse. Either that or they’ll just quit because they don’t want to pay for a transfer. So really, it would be in everyone’s best interest to fix this.
Or they could try to make the game enjoyable to players. That might help.
Agree 110% instead of doing this sharding BS that CLEARLY isn’t working let’s just stitch more realms together. Keep your realm name or whatever BS excuse Blizzard made up for not doing this we need a larger groups of familiar players on a single “server” so we have familiar players.
Not this stupid sharding BS that half the time makes it so you can’t even see people on your own server standing next to you.
Sounds like Blizz need to consolidate realms, CRZ just seems like an inefficient solution. Seems like the drawback to consolidation are naming issues and I think the fair solution to that is the toon with the most recent log in time keeps their name the inactives toons will just be prompted with a name change, or all toons that haven’t logged in “xx” time will be prompted for a name change. I haven’t thought about it a ton. CRZ and sharding have to be more resource intensive than just having isolated dedicated servers (but I could be way off).
They could probably fit the remaining playerbase on a few servers.
I’ve seen even the high pop servers sending recruiters to low pop ones, if its gotten that desperate I think its high time that they start merging more. I think its time to admit that they need to work with what players they have and make sure they have the best experience… and atm recruitment is so hard because whats left is spread thin and moving to greener pastures.
That’s not how sharding works.
And we don’t need a massive consolidation. People lose names and guilds that way. We just need a bunch of Connected Realms.
Yes please, real mergers… no further CRZ.
Even though it’s basically the same thing, I’ve preferred the idea of merging realms rather than connecting them. It’s probably something we won’t ever hardly see happen if ever though, since it’d decrease the amount of servers on the list and cause a flare-up of “WoW is dying, it only has X servers now!” from the community.
Uh… no they can’t.
Nor does anyone want that. Lag, loss of names, guild names, community for some, etc. Old Republic did that. It was the nail in the coffin. So many mass quit over their megaserver bs.
Why? Connected Realms is the same thing, except we keep our server name and our character names and our guild names.
CRZ is a buggy frustrating mess. If it worked as well as a merge would, that’d be wonderful, but it’s a far cry from that.
I never mentioned anything about using CRZ. And Connected Realms are “real mergers” in a much smarter fashion.
Don’t connected realms work via CRZ tech, except with features like trading enabled?
