We need faster leveling or Vanilla is dead

We’ve done this a billion times in 2004, 2019, SoM (which had 300% experience boost with questing) and whatever else was vanilla before blizzard re-launched their version. Dozens of people are burning out, my entire guild refuses to do the level grind again and none of my friends want to bother. Majority of people including myself are just resorting to dungeon spamming since its the quickest way to 60 but I’d rather be questing and doing a few dungeons instead. 2x exp rates across the board would make the grind go from an average-ish 144 hrs down to 72hrs which would be much more bearable. I have a job, go to the gym 5x a week and do chores at home leaving me about 3 hours of playtime. The only people who dinged to 60 are jobless neets or work from home players. Majority of people are going to be missing out on the first lockout for MC and most likely the 2nd and 3rd and maybe longer if your traveling for the holidays. It doesn’t make sense for the roadmap they gave us to have 1x rates and normal drop rates if this is going to be a shorter version of classic.

People are going to say “the leveling is the game” etc but the problem is vanilla wasnt a complete game when it launched. There are questing hubs that lack any quest like Azshara or hubs that end pre maturely before your high enough to move comfortably into the next. With 2x exp rates people could at least play in any way they’d prefer which would make questing and dungeon spamming viable.

Hello,

No,

Go play SoD or retail. Vanilla leveling is awesome.

The 1-60 grind has already eliminated a chunk of the player base on anniversary servers.

It’s only a grind if you make getting to 60 your sole focus

Most people not raiding in first few lockouts is a feature.

The whole point of wow is to have near-infinite content, pace yourself, have fun, and if you feel the game is moving too fast you can always play retail.

I thought dual spec cured these issues???

No, go away.

Levelling is half the game. Not a chore to go through, as you’re describing.

Zoomers like you are the reason retail has become what it is. If that’s more your pace, go play that.

If you don’t like the journey, don’t do it. Simple as that.

I agree with most of these players , no to changes to classic Vanilla WoW.

Your intentionally killing your playerbase off by doing this (most of which were people who played in 2019). They should put the 2x rates in and give the option to turn it off. But people like you would still complain because you wanna keep everyone else hostage to the leveling experience only a minority find enjoyable anymore. Don’t complain when the overworld dies again after the initial hype and all the advertisement for dungeons are mage boosters and people spamming dungeons.

You seem to think making a boring process faster will make it less boring. That’s some pretty flawed logic

It would make it tolerable instead of burning you out completely.

I don’t want faster leveling.

If you’re burning out then you’re trying to go too quickly. There’s nothing waiting for you at 60. Even when Molten Core releases in a few days it’s just Molten Core. What are you in a rush for?

Honestly in Hardcore, I’m just taking my time and dont really have interest in raiding beyond hitting level 60.

I’m not really in a rush to get it done.

TL;DR: casual retailers forgot that vanilla wow takes a time investment in order to reach end-game.

No, you are actually wrong.

Killing off the playerbase? Based on what evidence? Your gut? Based on the fact that you and a few of your friends don’t want to do it?

No. Classic 2019 (no changes) was the biggest launch they had in many years and Anniversary looks like their biggest launch since then. SoM had increased levelling and a bunch of other changes and it was a flash in the pan.

The reality is they will lose a few players like you. But clearly, you are in the minority because it’s insanely popular overall.

Just because you personally don’t like it doesn’t mean you’re the majority.

If you don’t like it, don’t play it.

So…you decided to play a game that you’ve already played several times and you’re surprised that the game you’re playing is a game that you’ve already played several times and do not want to play the same game that you’ve already played before even though when you started you knew that it was the same game? Is that about right?

Just play POE 2 like the rest of us.

POE2 isn’t even officially released for another 6-12 months.

People playing it now have paid USD to beta-test early access.
