No I’m not being hyperbolic but Fanimex misconstrued “different class designers” as people getting fired. People can move roles in a company.
That said I am not overly concerned with where they go it just seems to me that the Monk class is not interesting enough to them as it was for whomever designed it in MoP, or at least not enough for them to see its low representation as a problem.
It was a desire for tuning when I started playing monk. After several years of the spec being ignored and practically a meme, its a staffing problem.
My mist weaver monk was my main healer through out DF… she performed phenomenal and I absolutely loved the play style through several expansions.
She got leveled to 80 in this expansion and does nothing but sit in Dornogal and make potions now.
The main problem for me is they removed a spell that many mist weavers loved… Essence Font. None of the hero talents make up for it’s removal, it doesn’t flow right and it is the only time I’ve felt truly saddened to stop playing a class.
Through years of watching monk degrade, the big thing I notice is that monk is designed with a lot of restriction in mind and forcibly keeping the other classes relevant.
A recent example of this is with the WW “rework” where they haste became our best stat but Blizz nerfed our biggest haste amp by more than 50%.
