The only way would be to tune lfg dungeons to be doable without a tank and/or healer.
Either 5 dps, 4 dps and a healer, 4 dps and a tank, or a normal group.
They did it before with Torghast and Island Expeditions, so it’s definitely possible, it’s just not a good idea.
I’d say wait a bit. I know personally with the lead night elf hunter I have no plans to dungeon spam much. I to give the game its fair shake make first char more story leveling. Side quests will be hit too even.
it will the 2nd char, be outlaw rogue, most likely who will be heavily rdf infused leveling most likely.
If enough like me…we arent even in the rdf sign ups much.
Posting this on my warlock, largely because I’m deeply skeptical about jumping into LFG on my tankadin.
When I took a break to play XIV I missed WoW in many ways, but I miss the friendliness of their LFG groups.
You’d have to make the dungeons not require a tank and/or healer.
The forums love to say there’s a tank/healer shortage because “people are mean” or “it’s too hard” but that’s not really the issue. Neither is the “go go go” mentality.
Let’s be real, tanking a heroic is as easy as healing or dps’ing it. People just don’t want to do it. Doing damage is more fun for most people, and there are more slots for DPS in raid. There will ALWAYS be a tank and healer shortage in this game. That’s just the way it is, and it’ll stay that way unless they redesign it or offer absurd rewards for those roles.
Aside from removing those slots, the only other option would be to allow for an AI tank/healer. I doubt blizzard would invest that much though, prob a lot of work.
For Dragonflight or just in general? I’d say the shortest time is within 5 minutes. It has taken upwards to an hour, but that’s rare and I log off before a que like that even pops.
The solutions in place already is to que as a tank or healer.
Solutions not in place are:
Create NPC bots that you can group with when the que takes longer than 5 min. Multiple MMOs already allow this.
If a que doesn’t pop in 5 minutes, allow the open spots to be filled by DPS. Add ways to self heal in the dungeon, like SWTOR does.
False, I love playing tank characters. I main a Paladin and Dark Knight in FF14. It’s not that most dungeon finder groups lead to people flaiming anyone, it’s that the bad times.stand out. Everyone has seen the “go fast” mentality in groups and on the forums. People seen tanks/healers in their groups get screamed at in game and mocked on the forums. Truth is, the community has a toxic reputation and when addressed, it’s brushed off.
I’ve never had issues in my FF14 groups. If I didn’t know something, people would show me and I’d learn. There wasn’t this expectation hanging over my head to be some pro dungeon runner.
Blizz should take the mountains of advice given to them from these very forums ever since satchels were nurfed, and read that advice. That’s my suggestion.
