Personally never had that happen when playing on PVP servers.
I’m sure it did, WM makes it way easier for players to just dip and continue on their play time.
WM is great for people who like to PVP sometimes, but for the people who really enjoyed PVP servers, it’s different and not the same.
Like, I don’t think I’d want to seriously play ON a pvp server, but for those who do, I think one or two pvp servers would be fine. I’d love to see those pvpers get it when I know WM wasn’t well received by a lot of them.
Yea I don’t really get it either, but if they want it I say let them have one so we can move on with our lives instead of having this discussion every six months. Maybe no one will play it, maybe it will be terrible and the people asking will regret it later but whatever
Because people don’t have other characters or even other games, right? You backpedal and move the goalpost so much that I think it might be easier for you to start where you eventually back up into anyways. Cheers.
I mean if you PERSONALLY feel like it doesn’t matter, then stick to war mode where you won’t care if it does.
For me, I find it ridiculous that people can just hop to a rest zone, drop war mode, run somewhere else, turn it back on and continue shenanigans until they inevitably do the same thing over again.
Is it similar? Yeah. I never said it wasn’t.
Is it the same? No.
You seem incredibly irritable over this. I don’t get it. If Blizzard DOES add a PVP server, why would you even care? lol Just don’t play on it.
Firing up a few more virtual servers costs nothing.
Dev work is the cost. Every time there’s a change to the code in retail for grouping, for guilds, for warmode, and a million other things I wouldn’t expect, that breaks the PVP servers. They would require a whole extra test stage separate from retail, and this from a company who already cbf to do proper testing.
I don’t care if PVP servers get added or not. I’m saying it won’t happen because the cost/benefit laughs in the face of the idea.
Honestly I don’t really care either. I’d just like to see it for those I know really want it. And I can 100% see why they prefer pvp realms to war mode
That’s such a dumb idea but I would totally make a character on that server. Think about the culture there. People flexing their pets, always getting into battles. It’d be a Pokémon mmo and honestly I’m down for it
War mode is not a PvP server. It’s a PvE server with the option to “opt in” to PvP, and if you get lucky enough that enough people “opt in” at the same time, you might get some players. Assuming you don’t get sharding to a low population. Then you might as well be playing alone
The reason War Mode was created is because the large majority of Horde PvP players went to one server and the majority of Alliance players went to another, thus causing there to be no PvP
Lol it’s worded like a bad idea, but honestly, I think it’d be pretty lit.
All of the WoW collectors and pet-battlers in one realm, made just for them.
Yeah, I’d play there lol.
Only for the time being, until one population starts to skew and the whole realm is owned by one faction. It’s what inevitably happens to ALL PvP servers.
I love PvP and PvP servers, but I’d be lying in that they’re balanced. They have a lifespan, and that is based on the health of both factions.
The moment one faction starts to die, it’s game over for that whole server’s PvP scene.
Even on SoD right now, it’s complaints about the Blackrock Mountain PvP event and how some faction controls that mountain, and thus the majority of the server, etc.
One server would mean that you could only make characters on one faction (which I presume is still the rule for the game versions that have pvp servers).
The moment it goes live, a certain major WoW streamer (you know of whom I speak) would descend on the server, choose their faction and that faction would then go wildly overbalanced by thousands of streamer fans joining it.
End result - there would probably be world pvp for a while, until it became obvious that the odds were not ever going to be in your favour, and the other faction players would let their characters grow cobwebs or were deleted so the player could go over to the other faction, or just left the server. So no pvp, it would end up a virtual pve server by default.
Explain the meaningful difference or differences between the two; I’ll wait.
Like “opting in” to picking a Player versus Player server?
Like if you get lucky enough that enough people are online at the same time?
Like if a server gets split in the exact same way?
Every single criticism you try to make of War Mode is equally applied to Player versus Player servers. Again, you have your solution to a non-problem; it’s not anyone’s fault but yours that you don’t like the reality of the situation. Cheers.
