We need a major forum revamp

These are terrible suggestions. If you don’t like the forums, go somewhere else. No one is forcing you to use them.

How about explaining why they are bad? Why are things that prevent people from abusing the forums and only spreading negitivity bad a bad thing? Why is preventing lies and misinfomation a bad thing? Why is preventing spam a bad thing? Why is preventing toxic classic doomers using a lvl 10 to spam troll about retail a bad thing?

These are weird suggestions that only encourage witch hunts.

Here’s an idea - just use the forums and stop worrying so much about what other people are doing. If you don’t like a post simply don’t engage with it. If you think someone is trolling just report them.

Explain how it would encourage witch hunts. This would encourage actual feed back and discourange trolling and spamming.
So explain if you can.

How can you tell if someone is doing this, is there a browser extension or something?

Easy so if they dont private their profile all achievments are linked and you can match them say they got aotc you can match it as achivments get dates on them.

haven’t seen this topic pop up in a long time. still no.

These forums have been far more heavily modded since the early days of intense darkness and despair. I also don’t hide my profile and Blizzard, if they even care, know exactly who I am and where I live. I am just some dude.

Anyway trolling is something just about everyone everywhere does, so it’s kind of hard to avoid. People aren’t usually going to waste their time providing clear, rational, and objective based feedback if no one seems to even be listening and most derail it to oblivion. Let alone do so for free in a professional manner 100% of the time.

And I’d argue at times many a post/thread I’ve made has led to other players giving perhaps valuable feedback Blizzard can act on.

You want to hold people “accountable” but this has never been the job of a random forum user. Just report people you think are trolling and move on.

There is only 1 mod active per day from whwt i gathered and they have to handle all the reports. Thats way to many reports and allot of bad actors slip by trough the cracks

I mean if they have time to delete comments like I’ve seen deleted and close many a thread they sure do seem to actively purge.

How do you have time to do this? Don’t you have a job? School? Hobbies outside of a video game?

I’m not seeing this. We get some heated discussions from time to time but they are pretty mild compared to other stuff you see on the internet.

You think no one has ever had the thought “Let’s cut down on toxic forum stuff?”

Bad news – there will always be toxicity and trolling no matter what you do. Encouraging extremely strict moderation is not and never has been a good idea for OBVIOUS reasons. Making the forums harder to use is not and never will be a good idea for OBVIOUS reasons.

Bnet tags will never happen

You mean preventing people from abusing the forums as we have a major issue with is a bad idea becaussssss? You dont like it. … you didnt give a actual reason to why its bad.

Everything on the forums, TL, liking posts, reporting posts, should be on the account level, not the charater level, but b.net tag should be hidden unless I opt to show it

Moderation should be lighter, not tighter. Sometimes I wonder if I’m risking my TL3 by using language as harsh as “gosh darn it.” But it definitely needs to be more consistent

Just ask people if they like M+, and then ban the people that do.

Simple enough.
