We need a hide weapon transmog option – here is why.

Or maybe a “hide when sheathed” option if that is easier for gameplay purposes.

Hide shield too, please! :disappointed_relieved: I play a protection pally, I can’t use a couple of my powers if I unequip my shield and shield is hiding my beautiful transmog so :sob:

FF14 has this standard. I use it constantly. I totally agree.

FFXIV lets you hide your weapon(s).

Its one of the interface options. I dont remember EXACTLY how but its there.

Edit:
Open your ‘Character’ menu and select ‘Character’ or simply press [C] if you haven’t changed the default button,

  1. Below your character display you will see 3 small icons on the left, and 3 on the right,
  2. Click on the very first left icon to hide the weapon.

Yeah, it is the Transmog the shield is hiding. :eyes:

OT: That would be cool. Especially for casters who have the weapons for decoratin.

Ive been playing since beta. Its a TOTALLY different game than it was when released. Back in the day, mobs in dungeons didnt even drop coin. You got out of your dungeon, and had no cash to even repair, because their philosophy was crafting should be a “Full time job”.

Its gotten better.

I often transmog a rolling pin and one of the hot poker stick things (offhand) on my priest because neither of them show up when sheathed (and casters don’t unsheathe to cast, so…)

Can’t help ya’ with a staff though.

A workaround might be to unequip your weapon(s) and have a macro which equips them when you target an enemy.

can I instead have my caster classes use the weapon to channel their magic rather than just having the weapon sit uselessly on their back?

Over 100 days played of FFXIV and still finding stuff out.

But ya hide while sheathed would be awesome QOL. Like how some off-hands are.

FINALLY someone said it, classes like casters who have a good mog and their weapon ruins it need this, or just classes in general! As a druid I would love to just have my mogs and not have a weird weapon that doesn’t match and would rather have it hidden
