We need a good FOR THE HORDE

Alliance shut up.

It’s the most iconic line in this franchise. Bar none. And the best FOR THE HORDE delivery was from Sylvanas in a cutscene that was just outright false advertising.

At some point in Midnight we need the Sin’Dorei to be on the backfoot, with Troll, Forsaken, Tauren and Orc forces there with them. And as things look bleak we hear a loud, gutters “FOR THE HORDE**”**

Which rallies everyone into demon time because of course it does. Irrelevant who shouts it. Probably better if we dont know it.

If there’s not going to be a faction war anymore we need a great one to go out on. And trust me I’ve done a lot of PvP. And I’ve never lost a close match when everyone starts chanting FOR THE HORDE. You just, kinda gotta be there for it. I unironically listen to WoW music complications working out because a good FOR THE HORDE let’s you lift an extra 20lbs easy.

We need another iconic line drop.

What Horde? The Horde doesn’t exist on any real level. Increasingly since Cata Blizz only “liked writing the Horde” because they clearly felt far more comfortable using it any which way they wanted; to settup future stories and expacs. A comfort level only augmented by their total unwillingness to commit to anything even fringing grey on the Blue Faction. The Horde was a convenient tool for Blizz, until they took things too far and broke it.

Now its “Legion” after “Legion”. “Neutral” tales following nearly exclusively Alliance/Alliance-Adjacent stories, character and themes. I’m sure Lor’themar will croak, and his new railroaded adopted son-figure Arator will become the new leader of the BEs. Or a leader of a council, including at least two of the Windrunner sisters.

Oh Droite! Long time no see. Hope you’re doing well. Seems your opinions are static but unironically good to see you again.

That’s not me being a prick by the by it’s genuinely nice to see a familiar face.

Doin allright. Friends finally goaded me back in to play socially. Took em a while. Nice to see you’re still kicking around too. You’re more optimistic these days it seems.

But, I mean? Outside of that one intern from BfA who by some miracle does have a decent grasp of the Goblin racial fantasy, I’ve seen very little to assume Blizz will change its writing methodology. Blizz has shown little to indication that they have any real interest in developing, or rebuilding, the Horde in any real way. Or its characters. While Arator is giving off some serious Golden’s “Goldens” vibes, to pull another Calia with the BEs.

I’ll be happy to be surprised, but Blizz has a track record. They broke their toy going way too far with it in BfA, and do not seem keen on trying to piece it back together.

I mean. The Forsaken Hertiage Quest was kind of perfect.

God that’s just so perfect.

Doesn’t help I came in late so I immediately did the Gilnean quest and I SWEAR THIS IS TRUE.

The only one with me was a Worgen Fury Warrior. So a werewolf went hyper berserker mode as I floated around like a waking night terror shooting ghosts at people.

It was so cool my memory plays this over it;

I’m 200% for faction wars but the Worgen and Forsaken should have a Tauren Kaldorei friendship. Joining up to drop kick evangelicals was one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced. No more brother wars. Halloween Peace.

Hehe … You wanted the Pirates of the Carribean underwater-march walking scene, eh? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

 That said, it’d be EPIC for the Forsaken undead to get a racial that lets them walk on the land under-water — and have a 70% run-speed increase.

It was perfect and easily one of the best heritage quests. Then it kinda gets ruined by the fact that the Scarlet Crusade just keeps coming back more powerful every time Blizzard needs them to be a bad guy.

The Horde is in desperate need of something cause it’s been treading narrative water for years.

No Warchief
Barely any weight in the central story
A Thrall who’s still stuck in an elemental funk
Forsaken still sitting in a ruined capitol, the hole Sylvanas left still bleeding
Darkspear still have no significant characters
Baine is still Baine

Horde fans are having to survive of fumes, dreams, and delusions at this point.

Midnight is the perfect encapsulation of this issue.
After multiple expansions swung heavily towards the Alliance, we were finally getting an entire expansion centered on the Horde!
It was our time for the spotlight! It was time for Alliance characters to follow Horde characters in the background.

But as more and more details come out, things get bleaker and bleaker.

The Horde isn’t around in Midnight.
Blood Elves are, of course. But where are their allies? Where is Thrall? Where are the Forsaken?
Why are no Horde involved with the Void Plot?
They were around literally an expansion ago, sending high-profile agents into the Under to help us. But now that one of their core members is under direct attack, where did they go!?!

We still get to hang with big Blood Elf characters. Lor’Themar, Liadrin… Rommath is there somewhere.
But we spend just as long, if not longer, running around with Void Elves and High Elves.

I feel like, at the end of Midnight, we’re gonna regret wanting the spotlight.

I don’t think more perfect words about Baine have been said.

I think I’d rather the individual peoples and nations of the Horde have a good moment as opposed to a collective one that will inevitably be lost in spikes and red.

That’s me longform saying give Tauren that aren’t Baine Bloodhoof cool moments.

Need writers who like and understand The Horde. That crucial element is missing. Current crop thinks “For Azeroth!” is like, totally just as cool (it isn’t).

Yeah I listen to WoW music all the time. The Horde stuff can really get your blood moving.

Boy, that BfA cinematic looks like it would have been a cool video game to play through for Horde players. Instead it devolved into another Horde civil war for the Alliance to take advantage of.

Maybe we will see Talanji yell “for the Horde”as she leads a United Troll Warband into battle.

(The fact that they used the word “Warband” for a Player Account makes me think that is less and less likely)

I loved when Sylvanas said it - but a lot of people thought it didn’t fit her character or the Horde. And it ended up being a lie on her part. So as much as I enjoy that BfA intro cinematic, it does leave a bitter after taste.

Rexxar might be one of the few remaining Horde Characters that could unite the Horde fandom with a solid “For the Horde!” moment. He still has some credibility. He needs to get his rump to Silvermoon or something.

Thats beauty is this thign called character progression!
(and NO blizz its NOT same as villain batting, or having 180 personality shifts)

Is that what its called? Or is Sylvanas having these massive gaps of content and attention in between periods of her just overtly stating “The Horde and the Forsaken are just tools for my personal use”; and people just filling in those content gaps with how they wanted Sylvanas to progress? Because with Sylvie? It was mostly the latter.

Bluntly, you can hate the way they took her, but just about the only thing I found surprising with BfA Sylvie is not what she did; but why, and for who, she did it. That Jailor garbage. If you had told me that after her Bulwark so utterly failed to protect her and her interests in Stormheim she’d be pushed to further extremes, and it was Yogg who was playing with her and her afterlife this whole time? I’da bought it. Especially given how sus her Val’kyr were, and how Helya seemed to be afflicted by the Curse of Flesh with all those tentacles.

I meant it more for being a story, where sylvannas liek voljin told ehr, to step otu fo shadows as warchjief and apreciate horde more and all
from bfa trailer

instead of crappy 2.0 garrosh plot, that no one wanted, no one needed (except blizz SIGH)
is alot from what trailer showed couldve done with sylvannas /horde

she could be a very unique warchief
,but instead LOL SHE SERVESSUPER DUPER UBER DEATH GUY!!! THAT WE TOOTS PLANNED SINCE FIRST EVER GAME!!!
