My mind went to a very dark place the moment I read… “Ask Ion”
They haven’t done anything that I hate, tbh. So please don’t generalize me with the common disgruntled players(which is like 90% of the player base). And my questions wouldn’t be anywhere near what typical people’s would be. I have more sandbox design and general fun questions.

Be even nice to hear them say why they won;t do a certain idea than to say “We hear your feedback” but really they don’t. They should address everything accordingly.

After the whole Diablo Immortal debacle, I’d be surprised if any Blizzard dev could talk straight faced with any fan.
I’d rather the developers spend their time developing than answering tons of stupid questions on a forum but that’s just me.

As much as I would love an “ask a dev” section. Unfortunately it would be insanely volatile.
People in GD can’t even talk to each other about issues somewhat amicably. I couldn’t imagine the vitriol that would be thrown at devs.
the HotS devs used to do regular AMAs on Reddit back when they were all still employed, and surprisingly it went over pretty well for the most part. Regular communication with the devs added a lot of positive change to that and made that game feel better at its peak.

The devs are too busy to answer stupid questions like “WHY IS [CLASS] SO OP BLIZZ WTF FIX IT”
that is basically most of the internet in a nutshell anyways.

I think maybe the purpose of these forums (and social media commentary in general) isn’t to provide a channel for feedback or anything actionable.
It all exists to feel like you’re making a difference when in fact it all just gets flushed into the void.
It’s like a quarantine zone for your mind.

these forums would be nuked so hard if we had a section like that. it would be wild. only way to stop that is increase trust levels to some ungodly amount to even de deemed fit to speak to them lmao.
