We need a "Ask the Devs" section in the forums

We don’t need it at all

careful Dhaos, you might get this as a troll post. As someone has already tried this in the past and it instantly got removed as it was trolling in some form or another.

on another note, i absolutely agree!

Sure, and then none of them would post in it.

Same

In the immortal words of the mod bot on the r/wowcirclejerk subreddit, “Bellular is a game developer so his opinion is worth more than yours”.

oh hell no

Many people don’t have worthwhile questions and it would be full of complaining, arguing how Blizz should change the game just for them.

Do you actually think the Devs care about our ideas or questions?!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Hold on a sec,

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Personally I think it’s weird to want to talk to the devs. They develop a game that I like and I pay a corporation to access it. That’s my entire relationship with them. They don’t need to pretend to be an interested cashier at a checkout line for me. :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s called feedback.

An “ask the devs” section would turn into a complete :poop: show.

“Ion, why does the story suck!”
“Why is the game so injected with DEI!”
“Timegating sucks!”
“I can’t play without addons!”
“Pants pee pee poo M+ they took our jobs”
“Mythic raid gear for LFR!”

I can see it now, everyday is Sunday…

Well 99% of the questions will be players either asking for butt sliders in the character’s creation page or asking why has WpW turned into Hello Kitty Adventures?

This exact conversation basically happened between Ion and Hazlenutty a couple years ago after the disaster that was SL.

What for?

Does a developer explaining why they did something you hate, actually make you feel better?

I doubt it.

We need action. Not words.

No one is ever satisfied when they speak. It’s called a rabbit hole. :slightly_smiling_face:

Accountability.

If someone is calling the shots then there’s a source for the bad decisions being made and somebody to blame.

People’s idealized versions of the game would implement many things others hate.

So, what’s Blizzard to do?

People don’t like the same things.

A middle ground is often struck.

Not only that, their words will be interpreted in the worst ways possible - e.g. as promises, as proof of whatever conspiracy the players has about why Blizzard did X, …

Also some of the developers probably can’t handle an honest conversation - e.g. the writing staff - as there is no way to defend their work.

Good in concept but the way a portion of this supposed community responds with negativity disdain and snark it would not be a good thing.
