We miss world pvp. Give us a real reason to be in warmode

nah, get rid of all incentives that make war mode feel ‘forced’

That’s be a great way to show everybody how much people really care about PvP, lol.

As in, it’d be a ghost town.

Could it have something to do with the fact that the faction with the disadvantage quickly becomes a ghost town while the advantaged faction farms their flight points all day long resulting in nobody turning on WM in the first place? And whenever Blizzard gives an incentive to the disadvantaged faction to play over the advantaged one, the tables quickly turn until the incentive is gotten and the disadvantaged faction stops playing again? Could that have something to do with it?

For examples, please see BfA before flying, Overwhelming Odds, Nazjatar, and Venari’s Refuge.

You play in Classic on one of the RP-PvP servers. You always have wpvp.

Then War Mode would be just like the old PvP servers, which didn’t give you extra anything for being on them.

If warmode wasn’t just hordemode I wouldn’t have it permanently turned off tbh.

Because PvP servers didn’t offer incentives. The only ‘incentive’ PvE servers had was that you weren’t flagged in neutral or enemy territory.

Yep.

I have a grobulus char in tbcc. there jsut for giggles. Not caring about “endgame” in tbcc level 1 to 60.

and i have a carebear server char too.

Where this is failing in retail, imo, is the game is so end game focused, pvp is a hinderance to that. I don’t actually care about “endgame”. BUt the game makes me care in some way, regardless.

I am not there on the world boss for my enjoyment. Easy anima pickup for the 1000. wm off…I need (not want) the anima. and I need and want to not be picked off by a thrill killer in the process.

(e)BG instances I can do all night long . the game needs me in pve however (conduits and such). I want this over fast. So no WM. Open world bear mode, instance pvp killer. this is my way.

also what kills this for me coming from an eve mindset of 12 years…is the static pve spots. In wow I can know where to find people. Has a big ole sign on the map! There is no hunting in wow. its go to the WQ, farm spot, etc. Someone there…gank, Someone not there…move to next map point.

In eve…we are fulltime pvp. And I have lived that way for 12 years.

BUt space is really big. Like really big. So first they have to find me on my carebear site/anomaly running nights. or my mission runing nights. Missions (quests) in eve spawn at random locations.

and its so big if I run my d-scans as I carebear…I see them looking for me. I d-scan and see their probes. Far away and pretty sure they have no strong lock on my ship I continue to carebear.

I see them getting closer on next pass…I know they know how to probe and are refining the signal strength.

Now…I wrap it up and leave. One time I was warping off as I saw my new “friends” land. I stayed in that spot too long. Done right…they don’t even get that close.

Eve for open world fulltime pvp gives the hunted a chance. Wow, I can’t see those 3 warriors coming for me at 5 miles out.

Now put me in ashran…yeah that is fine. We all going to roc to bash heads and see who farms ogres for frags. that is fine. I signed up for that lol.

Warm mode is preferable to cold mode.

If they want world pvp to return it needs to be free for all no teams.

This 200%

I am a firm believer in how great world pvp and PvP in general is

And since it’s harder / more dangerous part of the game, it absolutely should be rewarded accordingly and incentivized

High risk is very much deserving of high reward

I’ve heard a popular streamer say that this sort of thing would be akin to “forced PvP”…

but is the need desire to have the latest and greatest really the same as being forced into something? Of course not . . .

some of the greatest experiences and memories people have made in this game is because PvP dynamics have made it possible…

and YES that means sometimes getting BEAT UP IN THE WORST WAY, but that’s par for the course

EVE Online is thataway.

I mean, the reason to be in Warmode is just to have the risk of getting messed with while you do your daily chores and make your gameplay time more “dynamic” read: tedious. It’s never been anything more than that even back when there were PVP servers.

I feel like it could be a lot better with PvP-centric incentives, such as a zone-wide “kill x number of players” with a small Honor/Conquest reward. Could even have it as a hand-in so you can go for Gold, Anima, or whatever else if you’ve got what you need. A means of grinding for gear without getting endlessly slaughter in BGs by those already geared – time-honored tradition though it may be – could help boost activity a bit.

Issue is many servers this would be a gimme welfare handout.

I’d be looking at alliance heavy oceanic. here…horde turns of their WM off a lot lol.

Or say me with my illiidan horde experiment. I actually ran/run her wm on.

I have seen very little alliance out. Why I chose illidan. Its so lopsided to horde. I wanted the xp lol. Not even going to lie about that.

I could do the same on MG with alliance chars.

Now this could be fixed. But it ain’t happening. As even some in TBCC have presented the idea of locked servers. Server X must and will be 50/50 or close enough.

1000 people try to transfer to it…denied. that would make imba. This is not happening. Especially for servers not on the free give out they had. 1000 transfers times $25…helps pay legal fees lol.

As that is a tbcc issue of late. Server moves. and thus pvp servers like grobulus which were kind of median…lost some of that. as it took in quite a lot of horde refugees from dead servers.

Don’t forget fixing the server lag when there are over 20 people on the same freaking map.

If you have to bribe people to turn on Warmode, then those players don’t WANT to PvP (or get ganked) and we shouldn’t be piling incentives up to force them to do it.

Literally the entire point of Warmode is to ensure only those who want PvP find PvP, and the nature of sharding means as long as they can fill a single shard in your server cluster or whatever with Warmode players, it’s doing its job and the PvP Population is healthy enough.

The existing bonuses are too much and need to be deleted. People should flag up because they want to PvP, not because they feel like they HAVE to. It’s okay if that means most people don’t PvP.

This is how I feel too.
