Fair enough, but still it’s not fun being camped and ganked because someone can do it and will keep going until you log or until they’re bored. Once, cool whatever. 15 times, go the hell away.
Every time you kill, your damage should be reduced by 20% and damage taken increased by 10%. Does that sound fun then? Because that’s how a lot of people are. The only reason a lot of them do War Mode now is because of the 10-30% increased rewards. Hardly anyone actually enjoys WoW PvP because of how broken and unbalanced it really is.
Also make it where, again, stealth classes cannot stealth or use stealth abilities once they exit stealth. They cannot get out of combat short of literally their character dying, not even hearthing or alt F4-ing. Let’s see how much “fun” it is for people, then, to be playing the op classes like Rogues, Druids, DHs or anything of the sort. Let’s see how much fun people actually have.
This is a very good idea! I agree entirely. Thinking back, world PvP was fun because it made going from Point A to Point B actually difficult. Required thought. In the sense of going off the beaten path. I no longer could walk down major roads, because id likely be ganked, instead I had to go through the forest and scenery. No where was safe… And this is what I think world PvP should be about.
What I think is your idea is fantastic, or even more simply, under max level (or the person killing you level), you should only be able to get ganked once by them, for a half hour or so. Other players can kill you, but that person is limited to killing you once per hour. If your in a group, that timer is shared by the entire group. At max level, where it is an equal fight. Fair game!
There’s already an incentive to be in Warmode, you get your PvP talents and your PvP gear scales to a higher ILvl, that’s all you need. Incentives create bad actors who just turn it back off after they’ve been rewarded.

No, I don’t enjoy World PvP to begin with because WoW’s PvP is extremely unbalanced, especially moreso at end game.
Class designs are terrible and you have a select handfull of classes who best every other class that isn’t part of the select few overpowered classes.

Killing people once per 30-60 minutes is a good idea, though, as that prevents continuous ganks/camps from happening which was the dumb thing with World PvP.
I just don’t like unfair things, which is why a lot of people actually enjoy World PvP, though. They want to be overpowered/broken completely rather than a slight bit more balanced like you are in a BG/arena.
Lol name one thing in life people do without incentive. I challenge you… Every single thing has incentive, PvP is no different. No one does PvP because the pvp talents just feel so cool and unique that you cant go without them lol
Never once said I was an expert on PvP. I hate PvP to be honest lol. I think the issue is the removal of PvP servers in the first place. If they bring them back, those who actually enjoy PvP can migrate there. If everyone loves PvP, World PvP will naturally be better. This is really the issue, forcing people into warmode for increased rewards is the issue. Because they dont want to PvP in the first place. Obviously it will be an unfair fight, because you dont want it in the first place…
I loved world pvp. It was very enjoyable for me from Vanilla-Wrath. There were 2 types of servers for a reason but for some reason people preferred to cry about how they were getting ganked instead of simply transferring.
Transfers were and still are expensive. I think if they had transfers 10 dollars instead of 25 or 30 or whatever, people wouldn’t have minded paying that much, especially if it was 5 instead.
Leveling, after you get so many characters up, ends up being boring af.
My dislike from PvP stems from the fact its never fair. Why would I do warmode when no one else does, and its almost immediately met with being ganked. Nothing about this in current WoW is a fun system lol. If I knew there were others doing it as a group, this is a different store. But the systems they have put into place really just ruin all sources of world PvP in game.
I mean its a simple solution, make a 1 time exception for the ability to transfer to PvP servers for free. World PvP will become so lively, youve gone there because you legitimately want to be there, problem solved. Instead they leave warmode in place so people doing it to try to level get ganked by people who “enjoy” pvp. Which really isnt even PvP at all. It’s the equivalent of just going in and clearing a low level dungeon at max level.
I’d rather they just make leveling better, overall.
Every character at max level gives you “+100% increased experience from all sources” an option you can toggle on or off and this is not server only but literally account wide. If you have 10 characters at max level, you get to toggle +1000% experience gain anytime you want it. The account wide max is 50 characters, which means a 4900% experience gain for the 50th character.
This makes leveling a breeze as 1 boar would give you prob 30 levels ez. It doesn’t stop at current expansion levels, goes right to max so you got it until level 60 or whatever the level cap is.
Rather than paying for server transfers, people would just level up multiple characters per server and watch their leveling become very very short so they can get right into the end game again.
You are right. If there is an incentive people will just turn on warmode to get the inventive but not they will not PvP. Warmode should be for people who want to PvP.
Its really easy, all they gotta do is remove the experience/reputation bonus. The incentive should be increased honor, conquest, and cosmetics. For example, an offhand that is rewarded for killing “X” amount of Orcs for example. What do you get, a Orc head on a spike or dangling from a rope or something. Same goes for all races. Very cool cosmetic imo. If you dont want to do PvP no worries, you just dont get the cosmetics, which is entirely fine. Experience boosts, force people to do content they dont even enjoy lol
Alot of the newer pvp system, even with the talents seems to be more item level versus item level than player versus player, I remember as a teenager in vanilla playing on my first ever toon on Earthern Ring watching this level 53 night elf rogue dueling 60’s outside Ironforge he had it going on haha no gear really to speak of gear was hard to get back then haha… I used to like to watch the duels, haha now with this item level stuff and what not it doesnt seem to be the same haha
Why not jack up the honor rates and maybe reward bountied players with conquest for every kill they get with the bounty. The incentives should solely be pvp focused for sure.
…Like actual benefits for your faction. Why not have holding X-resource give an EXP/REP Gain buff. Who doesn’t like more mount/travel speed? Increased mana regen, or Damage buffs?
There were a few places in BC like that, and more I’m sure, but I missed all that.
It’s a shame there is already so much cool stuff in existence that can’t be repurposed to always be end-game content.
I’m Imagining 3 or 4 zones with World PVP objectives that provide some worth while benefit … and a whole network of portals to support it so getting to it is fast and easy.
