We have around 1 month left before SL hits

Give or take a month left anyway, maybe 6 weeks. Is anyone thinking of changing mains? Coming from someone who did change mains I would highly suggest to do ASAP, once you have got what you need to get, or if you are only farming mounts do it in your downtime because if you start late you will gear late and you will fall behind.

It’s much easier to stay on top of things for those who don’t have hours each day to just farm stuff. And, if you start before SL hits you can at least learn something about your new class.

I am also thinking now that I have 99% of what I want out of SL ticked off to clear all my corruption, buy some new AZ gear and not use the traits, or reforge what I have, and remove all essences. Because that is what your class is going to feel like when classi… SL drops, bare bones.

Fall behind who? I wasn’t aware I was in competition with anyone.

The PTR Pre-Patch isn’t even live. That’s generally when we have a month left before an expansion hits. I’ll also note the PTR Pre-Patch is nowhere near ready to go live.

We’ve easily got 2-3 months left to go.

It ain’t gonna be 6 weeks

I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if it was longer.

You sure, cause I have characters on the pre-patch PTR.

I doubt it.

I meant to say the Pre-Patch isn’t live. Curse these early mornings. Need caffeine!

I’ve been “behind” since WOTLK…

Maybe you don’t care and that is fine, but I see players who struggle to get anything done because they did not start farming corruption or currency when it was available nor did they did not push their cloak level early.

Therefore the flow on is that they have random corruption, a lower IO, not as high keys completed and some are even now struggling to find a group to get their AOTC.

With no corruption, no IO, no achievements, no good trinkets or AZ players struggle in dungeons and raids and generally don’t get invited to groups which means they basically miss out on content.

Sticking with this character. I didn’t do Mecha-Done just to refrain from driving around in my Model W with my mechagnome.

SL is DEFINITELY not coming out within a month or 6 weeks.

Pre-patch on live is still SL as much as when the pre-patch event is over.

God almighty something like this being done in SL is going to be a nightmare with no one helping.

Gonna be 100% honest here. It’s not hard to come back mid patch and get exactly where you want to be. It’s just not. Pugging is insanely easy but if the player REALLY cares they’ll be in a guild that share the same progress goals as the player.

There is no way prepatch is going to sit on ptr longer than a month. Blizzard is going to roll that out mid September whether we like it or not. More importantly whether it’s ready to go or not. Gotta get them stonks up.

Considering the gear drops are being nerfed in SL, along with the soft cap for stats, along with the changes to the weekly chest, good players are generally not going to take someone who is behind, we will even start seeing guild members not taking people because they are going to need all the gear they can get and won’t be able to easily share what little there is.

I am already planning on not running lower keys and raids than what I can do, no more carries, no more handing out gear I get, I will be pushing for the highest keys and raids to maximise my chances in the end of week cache and end of dungeon or raid boss kill loot drops. Time will be more scarce in SL thanks to those changes.

I don’t know if 9.0 is finally going to be the patch that makes me switch to BM. Probably not to be honest - MM is still way more interesting and fun to me.

Yes, which is why I did it now. Well, that and my insatiable lust for anything that is even tangentially associated with mechagnomes.

This is the sad part of gaming, do you take longer to get as close to 100% ready as you can, or do you roll with what you have because it’s been too long already since 8.3 dropped.

It was 7 months from 8.2 > 8.3 and is almost 9 months now with players pushing for stupid stuff like an M31, a full mage heroic raid, an all tank raid. We’ve all seen Rextroy try to break the game. We are at that point that if they don’t at least give us a more concrete date than players are going to start leaving until we do.

I already see it now, my guilds main raid has players that have either left permanently (as in not playing SL) or taking breaks and even some of the players you see in every day are just not here, they are off playing other games while they wait for SL.

So even now if you are still pushing for things like AOTC, CE, KSM, PVP rating it will be harder to find the better players who did push early in the patch. And if you miss out on something because you thought “Nah, I have time” than you may be disappointed later that you did not get it, like the mage tower appearance.

Yea, that’s why I am a happy one main and no alts kind of player. The amount weekly chores to do is already a lot on one character. I been content with my corruption, 2k io, neck and cloak level. Now I am just grinding visions for mail muncher and the vision bug mount. I already got the 5 mask and keystone master worms, just need the mail muncher

Sounds more like a second job than a game but you do you.
