I feel sorry for them too.
And I am one of the people criticizing the new race as I would like the humanoid form to be more dragony (scales everywhere!) and the dragon form to be an actual dragon.
I mean, this androgynous lizard race doesn’t hold a candle to the Au’ra race so…
Au’ra males are the second tallest race in the game…
why arnt you on their forum instead of here then

I have an FFXIV account and play it from time to time. Not as good as WoW. Another MMO Lost Ark I am playing as well. 10.0 I plan to play WoW 24/7 though. FFXIV is not even the same type of MMO in genre that WoW is so the two have different playerbases.
WoW is WoW. I like it the way it is.

Have you considered that they’re two different groups of people? I know that I would prefer FF14 races that all look hot AND the humanoid Drakthyr form so no hypocrisy here

I find funny how the Vrykul consider the humans ugly.
I’m talking about the females in that post. I like how they made the females obviously female with them being smaller and look as such, while male aura are much taller.
FFXIV is literally a ripoff of Cataclysm. The entire story for the ARR do-over and the core mechanics and systems for endgame were all Cata. The game has evolved on its own a bit since then, but not so much that those similarities aren’t still very much present.
FFXIV is literally the most WoW-like MMO you can jump to if you want something different, but familiar. Because it failed and they needed to make it not fail.
The Au Ra are a disappointment and ugly af. I was on the Heavensward Hype Train. I have the Au Ra lady concept art saved to my desktop as it comes up very often in discussion on their forums (especially as people are currently still fighting over female Hrothgar).
They are hairless Miqo’te who used spirit gum to glue Party City plastic all over their body. Were the devs smashing that randomizer button to show off as many options as they could, resulting in a lot of clashing aesthetics? Sure, but I’d have lost my mind if SE had the balls to release something like Dracthyr instead of defaulting to… whatever Au Ra turned into. Legitimately the male model is stretched and it broke its animations. Crash Bandicoot looking a**.
AHEM, yeah. Stick to your guns, Blizz. I adore these funky lizards. The girl who was heartbroken in 2015 is healing.

I like Au Ra, but I can’t really play the male Au Ra at all. I tried to like the males, but… I got tired of looking like my character was angry all the time. Even when the character smiled, it looked like an evil grin and not happy. Female Au Ras are leagues better.
Maybe one day, Square will realize the problem with Male Au Ra facial expression and fix it.
Are you saying that what the dev’s build is imaginative and inspiring? 
They took Blood Elves and they put horns on them.
I don’t like playing them either, I play midlander hyur. Still nice to see a big difference between a male and female thought.
Heh, thankfully I very much DO want anthro dragons. I couldn’t actually stand the Au’ra because they were just normal models with a few scales and horns tacked on. I have been really missing a good dragon/reptile races since they fell out of favour in MMOs a few years ago. I’m actually super happy the devs are adding the Dracthyr. 
Er, and I do like FF14 too. It’s one of my favourite games. I just… I really wanna play a Dracthyr.

Most people think the extreme dimorphism between the males and females that race is really weird.
All the females are extremely short and look like teenagers while the males are almost twice their height and look like adults.

No. If you truly think that then you havent been around much. The two are very different. And I just resubbed to WoW today and Im here to stay. Liking the game again. I already quit FFXIV. FF counts their subs different from How WoW does it. if WoW did it the same way then it would show as WoW having 27.1 million subs. That is called deceptive advertising. Blizzard does not do that. A sub is a sub. Not a cancelled sub and not a potential sub such as a non paying trial. Also, toons/characters do not equal players. So if I have 47 toons, that does not mean there are 47 people playing on my account on retail. FF is nothing at all like Cata. I began playing the FF games way back when they were turn based RP counsel games on the original PlayStation.
They were fun but FF was never set up to become an MMO. WoW was.
I play lots of games and FF is not at all the closest thing that you can get to WoW.
