I thought i’d throw my 2 and a half cents into the mix from what ive been reading on these forums.
The main arguments ive seen about being for/against RDF seems to be convenience vs community.
Those in favor of RDF seem to be so because they want the game to be faster pace for:
The convenience of leveling faster in dungeons,
The convenience of not having to walk to them,
The convenience of not having to take the lead and form groups because they are a less-desired spec,
And the convenience of filling positions faster if someone drops out.
The ally meme is even no Razor Fen Downs, because they cant be inconvenienced to run to RFD either from Darkshore/Ashenvale or Dustwallow.
Those against RDF seem to be so primarily due to community related reasons, and i tend to agree.
I like the player choice aspect of being able to open LFG and potentially see a familiar face and go “oh yea, lets grab him”, or “oh, god not him”, or being able to fill the group with classes we want instead of just praying we get a person with 1/2 a brain every single time we wanna go do a dungeon.
I like the time it takes to get everyone to a dungeon, it provides downtime to potentially chat to my new groupmates instead of “pop ok we’re in, gogogo.”
These are just my thoughts, but i’d really dislike RDF coming back and i still, even after 12 years, dont understand the push to keep turning WoW into an Action MMO instead of an MMO RPG.
I also wonder how cordial people could be in requards to this topic, because every post seems to devolve into vitriolic flames and sh*tposting.
^^^^^ This proved to be impossible, as people appearently think my opinion is an affront to the very fabric of who they are as a person and gamer.
