We demand action against bots blizzard for madskillzzhc

I wouldn’t be so quick to say that. When I raided high end we had players who ran with chinese named pets on their hunters. While true, many foreign pet names can be attributed to players who run the chinese client, you can not automatically know that someone is a bot based on their pet’s name.

You are are right in some cases but I know some genuine players from China that do not sell gold. It’s racist to blanket all of them as cheaters that deserve to be grief’ed, which it is also a violation of the social contract to grief other players.

Make sure to attach a 100$ bill to this post so someone from Blizzard actually sees it.

Blizzard hasnt cared about the players, the game integrity or the support system since the 2007 tbc release. Nothing is going to change as long as you keep buying mounts for $$$, stay subscribed and buy every garbage expansion they put out.

Blizzard profits by letting bots roam free and they aren’t going to do anything about them(even though they could eradicate 99.9% of them). Because you aint players, to blizzard you are payers.

You guys dont have wallets?!

It baffles me that we are over 20 years in and people are still unaware of that the bot economy is worth millions of dollars, and also it baffles me how unaware the playerbase is for who is at fault.

This money comes exclusively from other players. Your guildies who bought 1000 gold because they didn’t want to farm. Your friends who didn’t want to do a couple dungeons to afford their epic mount. The bots are successful because players want to buy their way to the top instead of playing the game. The wow community is at fault.

It also annoys me how many people don’t understand Blizzard’s strategies for fighting bots despite it being public knowledge for years now. And dum-dums here still claim blizzard doesn’t care or do anything. You guys litterally attack Blizzard with your left hand for not doing enough and then pay the bots to stick around with your right hand.

If you care about this problem you’d report your friends and guildies when they buy gold. Just saying.

Ban waves are utterly ineffective. They’re giving bots weeks or months to accumulate gold and send it all over the place.

If Blizz really wanted to address the issue, you hire GMs to police the game and ban bots in real-time. Don’t even let them gain a foothold. See a bot…banned. Ban waves give them time to restart the whole process at minimal investment. It’s an illusion. The upper management bean counters at Blizz want to keep it profitable for bots to keep coming back. And the type of whale players who buy gold are precisely the players they want.

It doesn’t help that the leader of the all-streamer guild was caught, openly and admitted to buying gold.

Blizzard literally doesn’t care and will only take measure to placate anyone’s strong emotions about the issue. They fully literally are making money off botters themselves, this doesn’t hurt them in the slightest whatsoever. They have zero reason to take any action and only do take action few and far between for PR.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. Ban waves are extremely effective. The amount of GM’s you would need to hire to combat over 15,000 bot accounts is not sustainable. Especially when instant bans = they just make a new account.

You have to hurt their customers inorder to hurt the bots. How do you do that? You time your ban waves to be in line with periods of time when the customers can not charge back for the bot service or the gold bought.

Blizzard has to weigh whats good for the game and whats not. Streamers are good for the game. It’s a 20 year old game, anything that builds hype and brings players in is good. They made a judgement call to take the gold and not fully ban said streamer because of this. But that doesn’t mean they didn’t full ban the account the streamer bought the gold from.

Making exceptions for e-celebrities lol. You love to see it.

When you bring in customers, you get some leeway. Welcome to the real world.

Sounds like a yes.

That guy really doesn’t have a clue. ‘You need an army to ban those bots!’ No, literally a couple GMs could do it in a weekend. It’s not a mystery who the bots are, or where they are.

Can you imagine defending Blizz’s actions against gold sellers and buyers? It’s indefensible. Maybe he works for Blizz. Otherwise it’s pretty sad.

And just read his post on Soda. Streamer gets caught buying gold, and not even banned for a day. “Well, streamers follow different rules!” I mean, it’s true. But you don’t applaud that policy.

You’re clueless on how any of this works. You should try working in the industry before making brain-less claims.

Where did I applaud it? All I did was state how it is.

So mister industry expert what are YOUR qualifications, since you seem to think someone outside of this industry you’ve invoked twice now couldn’t possibly know.

Where is your expertise coming from? How do you know better? Outside of regurgitating PirateSoftware

You work in online games, thats how. You get to know other people who work in online games too. For blizzard specfiically, you can even bypass that if you play the game at a high level and get your own blizzard contact, or just raid at a high level with blizzard employees.

Why the hate on Pirate software btw? He’s one of the most knowledgeable guys in the public eye on security.

What about my statement implied I disliked PirateSoftware? I think Thor is genuinely one of the most awesome people. He’s what streamers should strive to be, an actual good person.

Literally WHAT did I say to give even the slightest iota of a hint of a clue that I disliked him? Im so violently confused how you could make that take that I question if you’re not just a high effort troll at this point. If any insult was intend it was meant at you. You’re the one regurgitating, in my example. You taking his words are re-speaking them clumsily.

Also your response was a slighter fresher take on “My dad works at Nintendo.” I think you are trying to sound like you know things you don’t attempting to impress people you dont even know by claiming you have knowledge it’s becoming pretty clear you don.t

But alas, you have absorbed far too much of my time and I have zero interest in engaging you further.

I’m sorry but you’re problem with me is that I have similar information to a former security employee and you’re upset I don’t word things the same way that he does?

When people who know how things work and explain them, you attack them. Do y’all just want to stay mad forever and point fingers and blame someone for the bot problem? Faux outrage doesn’t solve anything.

Theres litterally nothing I can say that will give me credit on an internet forum. You can take any claim and make this statement. I don’t care to impress you, I care to educate you on how botting works, and what the only actual solution is: which is players have to stop paying for bots and gold.

Clear example of why the community here is such a problem. They don’t listen to anyone, they point fingers, they cover their ears, they attack people who try to explain it, and then they disengage, angry over nothing. Not everything is a personal attack against you.
