We Changed Delves! And now everyone hates them

So let me get this straight blizzard…you introduce delves which are supposed to be separate from M+ and different from torghast but still have a genuinely challenging experience in them at strength 7 and 8.

So then you hotfix the delves making anything above a 6 impossible to solo which all but requires you to group for even though these are supposed to be “soloable”

You make the scaling absolutely worse which requires my original point above and this all but makes the “solo content” not worth it at all.

On top of this you add in for group filled content as mentioned above MINI BOSSES which can spawn ON TOP OF OBJECTIVES YOU NEED TO CONPLETE THE DELVE.

On top of the mini bosses they are scaled wildly out of control with a DoT that cant be dispelled and rips apart your HP pool and as if that wasnt bad enough the mini bosses have true sight so they can detect stealth so for rogues and druids thats out of the question.

On top of ALLLLLL this you change how the death system works so if you die and someone rezzes you, it counts against you regardless.

…Remind me why I shouldnt abandon this gane wirh all of the higher ups making god awful implimentations like this?

This hot fix actually helped me. I play as a solo tank. I could barely get past level 7 and today I can farm it with ease. I haven’t tried level 8 yet though.

I’m not having the issues some people seem to be having

I’m starting to think it’s not really just a Blizzard issue but an industry issue. A bunch of scraped by graduates who have no idea how to develop or maintain a game put in charge of these things. All the old guard and experience devs have fled to greener pastures.

Like the decisions made for delves was unquestionably bad. It’s like there’s no chain of command. How does this pass through 2-3 chains of leadership, which something like this should, and come out this way just screams multiple levels of ineptitude.

well they didnt really change them per se, rather they fixed them to how they were intended to be.

for each additional player in the delve the scaling should go up and not down. and in this case the scaling went down, aka making the delve much easier the more players you had.

with that being said, if blizzard stopped rushing out their product and had actual testers, testing the game rather than beta players looking to exploits to keep to themselves until game goes live, then stuff like this would happen much much less frequently.

Let me get this straight, you think delves whichbare a solo player content to get gear and cstch up, is intended to have mini bosses that wipe your group or you yourself if you enter them and try to complete it? …makes sense

no. they still need to be tuned. absolute trash of trash mobs in there should not have 40-80 million hp. unavoidable aoe damage should not be 1 shotting players.

they still need to fix that stuff. but my intended target of “they fixed the scaling” was solely based off of the group size. sorry i should of been more specific.

Ok THAT I can fully agree with. I thiught you were trying to suggest that having a mini boss that puts a dot on you that ticks for 20% if your hp bar at a time while having true sight so you cant aneak around it if that option is available to you was “fun.”

Had me worried there but on everything else I can agree

I do enjoy how all they had to do was slightly adjust the solo experience, leaving all the group balancing exactly the way it was and change nothing else and everyone would have loved it.

Instead they were like hold up we need to break everything and make it all much more difficult for everyone because people are actually enjoying themselves and having a good time, some already beating the end system boss and getting the achievements.

Posting in another gem of a thread.

Fun was detected and its not like delve tier 7 or 8 werent challenging or difficult either. Plenty of times where if brann wasnt healing or throwing hp pots around I wouldnt have survived. Especially with the nerubian delves that had the, I forget his name “brood lord something something” that at tier 8 did stinging swarm taking chunks of damage off my hp bar

I agree. I think it’s the people who were face rolling in groups that are losing their mind right now.
