Yep. Why wouldn’t i be? It’s a cosmetic item. If someone wants it that bad they can pay for it or they can farm gold every month for a token on that account. If they don’t feel it’s worth it they can just not do any of that.
I’m upset because the only equippable backpack in the game is going to require money.
I mean… the current form is just a paywall as people say. Recruit yourself, like many do, get reward.
If they really wanted people to play together give an entry level RAF reward like the pet then give the two RAF friends a series of “quests” like the Season Journey in Diablo3. Simple stuff like complete 100 quests together, 10 dungeons together, explore x zones…
That seems more fun imo
Because your repulsed by a gaming company using such an obvious money grab?
I don’t know if you’re aware. Companies exist to make money. If people think it’s worth the money, they will buy it. If they don’t think it’s worth the money, they won’t. This is how the market works.
Getting your friends into something you enjoy should be it’s own reward.
This is my problem. I’ve been playing the game for 15 years. Everyone who knows me has either already tried it themselves or has long since decided they have no interest in it. Every sibling, girlfriends, girlfriends families, entire friend group, there’s no one for me to recruit.
Time to take a lesson from the mormon playbook I guess and go door to door?
What did you honestly expect? WoW’s sole purpose nowadays is to milk as much money and keep time played metrics up as far as they can for the shareholders.
It’s really sad what wow is now.
Right. So you were good with the pharmacy bro jacking up medicine 5000%? Just because something has a business justification doesnt mean it’s justifiable or even a good business decision.
Plus I would assume they would make more if more affordable as units go up as price goes down
Are you really comparing someone’s medication to cosmetic items in a video game?
Maybe, we still don’t have any flails other than the ones from the Mage Tower.
I’d like this more if they were adding backpacks from other sources at the same time instead of hoping they might possibly add more later on.
I just have a problem of do I make an alt account and sink tons of money into for the sake of an awesome transmog and a lovely flying mount or not…
Also do I need the other account up to BFA? Granted it’s only $40 for everything with a free month
Someone trying to point out that there is a difference between content and cosmetics is suddenly bullying? ![]()
I think that’s taking things to an extreme there.
It is important to understand the significance between the two and quite often, you’ll see some people on this forum try to push an agenda by stating that cosmetics are actually playable content. This is why you will find people correcting or asking for clarification. It wasn’t some personal slight against you.
As for the system itself, it’s very much like Old Republic’s and Rift’s. The more people you recruit, the longer they stay, the more you get. It’s why people post links for this stuff in Old Republic all the time.
No. I’m discussing your business acumen
I see they didn’t like players getting extra accounts and buying one month of time for the rewards, now your “friend” account has to stay subbed. lol
Yeah, the real reason this revamp happened is that there’s a max of 8 wow licenses per bnet account and people who wanted all the RAF rewards were running into that limit. Now they can expand it forever on just one extra account.
There are choices with everything. Usually products that impact people’s lives are regulated or there are ways to mitigate the price.
Otherwise the choice is “can i get away with charging x amount?” Or “will doing this drive away customers?”.
If blizzard decided to put mythic raid gear or better in the shop they would lose customers, that would be a bad choice. Cosmetic items though, don’t effect gameplay, so they can charge whatever they want for them and aren’t at too much of a risk.
Pff… I don’t care about that. How about some cosmetic quivers and librams? (dangling from our belts by chains, not stapled to them)
Because she is my daughter and she said she was interested in playing again. Funny things happen when you know people and talk to them. As for denying her, she is 24 years old, lives on her own, and pays her own bills. So this would be a gift.
So you think it’s a savvy business decision. Got it.
