the only somewhat cheap items are the armors, and they are still over 10k honor
Blizzard, honestly, I’d like to believe you couldn’t be SO out of touch with your community and just blatantly unware of the current playstyle of the overwhelming large majority of your player base, borderline all of your player base. If I actually need to explain what I mean by that, then you’re even further out of touch than I’m thinking currently. People aren’t asking for the exact same MMO they got 15 years ago, you’ve stated this yourself. WAKE. UP. Also, help us understand how such an obviously poor and misinformed decision was made in the first place - of course you should revert the change or increase it by at least x5 while you’re at it. Show us that you actually care about and value the game this game half as much as we do, and L I S T E N. Please. Restore just a tiny bit of faith in your community.
They won’t.
Weapons exclusively.
Here’s some numbers for you. Beginning in Season 3 you are able to buy season 1 gear for honor. Your helmet alone is 15k.
Factor in the fact every season you need to purchase:
A necklace
A belt
2 rings
Bracers
Boots
Cloak
Depending on how they handle it, you may need to buy a trinket every new season also if they gradually release them. Like some of the non insignia trinkets were dropped in 2.3, some were dropped in 2.1.
All of which are about 15k a piece on top of a mountain of marks.
abomination of a change
Your shots are from prepatch into wotlk when honor requirements dropped down to roughly 1k-2k per item and the gained honor was also scaled back. Thanks for ruining most peoples prepatch fun and plans.
Weapons exclusively. Your highest piece of actual armor though? 13k. Some are 8k.
Boots, Gloves, Shoulders are 8415. Helm and Legs are 13005. Chest is 13770.
What a terrible take
There’s a special place for people like you
So you were wrong then?
Fun detected, so y’all gotta instantly fix. But yet all these bugs from beta still stick around lmao. Blizzard is a meme company
It seems that you never stopped to think if it really was a bug or was it okay, the most absurd comparison I just saw.
Lmao. Imagine having to point to WEAPONS and saying “SEE?! THIS ITEM YOU BUY ONE, MAYBE TWO OF COSTS OVER 15K! THAT MEANS IT’S MORE!”
Actually why am I even saying “imagine”? You literally just did it. There is no piece of ARMOR that costs 15k. Meanwhile in tbc it’s literally a ring costing more than the highest cost piece of ARMOR on the vendor.
Meanwhile weapons take a hell of a lot more time to grind out just from arena points. Especially for you when you’ll be sucking down 1600 rating point gains week after week and unable to purchase the damn thing.
is it weird that andycloud has posted on numerous forums always questioning things that people enjoy and Kaivax has mostly been the one to respond, and that Kaivax’s post history is on private so you cant see his interactions as easy
Currently we keep getting dropped from BG’s Naxx is bugged so I cannot raid I can’t go gank targets due to more BS layering even though there are not many players in a zone. characters and players are bugged you lose your Boon’d buffs when skirmishing people are spamming their stupid dark portal “toy” that we didn’t want you all to add and blocking views while trying to dungeon and what do you fix first? too much honor when we have 1/3 the time to get gear? SERIOUSLY? I can’t even stay in a BG I keep getting kicked and you fix the honor gained? I’ve had it. I’m done GL blizzard I’m not reupping my sub.
You said there were no items over an amount… you were wrong. Chill out idiot.
Im not upset because of the change. Im upset that half the player base got their gear BEFORE the change. Homies like us are left out. I f’ing planned to farm for GM during prepatch hoping I’ll get it a week early and just go back to farming DM. ON THIS TOON.
Thousands of gold farmed; thousands of consumables provided cheap on the AH and for what? TO be left out again. All because I couldn’t get online 10 hours earlier. F you blizzard; I wouldn’t be this mad if only I had the chance; but I got KICKED every game before the “fix”.
No matter what blizzard does now; the community is divided. AGAIN.
Edit: Bro; this is the first time in 14 years they got me posting. Look at my account; I have so many characters. This character alone I’ve farmed at least 10k gold. I’m not forgiving this one. Never man; games already ruined for me. At least my plans are; discouraged as hell. But I’m not a whale willing to fork up every penny, so ignore me like the others.
I wrote this in another thread, but I’ll put it here as well for the hell of it.
I played in the original TBC pre-patch and acquired several pieces of PvP gear on 2 60s. I don’t remember the exact specifics, but I know it was fast. I distinctly recall the HWLs (who got HWL in vanilla) complaining about how HWL gear was basically being given away for free before TBC released. It most certainly did not take hundreds of games to acquire gear at that time.
Also, here is an old interview from back then:
While this interview does not mention exact honor amounts or time-frames, you can see a casual mention of how long it took to farm a HWL weapon during the pre-patch in this answer:
6. You ground your characters to Rank 13 - what are your feelings on the new PvP reward system?
Well, it is a bit disheartening to see the rank 14 weapons so easily attainable after spending so much time getting to Rank 13 on all five characters (at the same time). Keep in mind though that in a month people will be replacing them with better weapons anyway so I suppose this really isn’t that big of a deal. If you do the math though to see how amazingly stupid the old system was - I calculated it would have taken me about 1,600 more games of WSG over the next 4 weeks to go from Warlord to High Warlord. I was able to pull in as much as 180,000 honor in a day with endless WSG wins (on non WSG weekends). Now all it takes is about 2 days for a HWL/GM weapon. Given what I knew about the expansion and the fact that I was maximizing crit over raw damage (as many of my spells are instant cast and subject to diminishing returns on +dmg gear) the AB staffs and Benediction suited me just fine.
That said though, I am actually a bit glad that Blizzard has decided to make PvP rewards far more sane. It really was out of hand, the lengths that one had to go to in order to attain the top ranks. I will withhold my judgment on the Arena system until the final numbers are in and the expansion has been released. It seems like a system that is going to reward those who do pretty well and those that do very well nearly the same - which makes sense over rewarding only the top .1% as the old system did. Just don’t lose most of your Arena games or it looks like it will take five or six times as much to attain the same amount of points as those in the upper ranks.
They mention it now only takes 2 days of farming to acquire a HWL weapon.
I doubt most people would play 200+ games in 2 days, which would seem to confirm your numbers are not accurate.
PS: even if they were, the pre-patch should be a time to let people catch up fast in both levels and gear. Give us an XP buff and re-check your honor numbers (or just buff them regardless)
I vehemently disagree with this decision. I am absolutely astounded at the thought process that led to this choice. I formally request the numbers to be adjusted. 40 hours of 100% winning pvp for one item is completely ridiculous and I just cannot fathom how Blizzard decided this was a good thing to do.
