Because they try to sound educated, but end up proving the opposite.
No, itâs not. The nerfs came with the 2.0.1 pre-BC patch which was released in November 2006. TBC then released in January 2007.
Kungen is an idiot. Full stop.
During WotLK he went on record to say that without a Warrior MT, there would be no way for any other Tank to get through Ulduar hardmodes, notably fights like General Vezax and even XT-Deconstructor. He was summarily laughed off the Tanking forums because Warriors were notably one of the WEAKEST Tanks for those fights in particular due to how hard the bosses hit and the dramatically superior EH of Death Knights and Druids.
If youâre relying upon Kungen because he was in a top-tier progression guild for anything resembling basic algebra, youâre already lost. Being in a progression guild has rarely translated into solid modeling or theorycrafting, as a majority of the best theorycrafters from TBC through Cataclysm werenât even in top 100 guilds regionally, let alone world.
I donât understand why people complain this isnât real classic because it is based on 1.12 like almost every pserver is based around recreating that as its seem as the most complete patch content wise.
what version were people expecting ?
No one is saying that. We are on the BC pre-patch. This was the last Vanilla patch in preparation for BC.
2.01 was after the release of BC, which was 2.0. 1.12 was the BC pre-patch.
UhâŚwhat?
This isnât true. We got 2.0 talents and changes to the raids before TBC dropped. Doing AQ40 with Mangle available was a lot of fun.
This isnât that patch. 1.12 was not the pre-patch.
Using a 2006 power level patch for 2004 content is ridiculous, donât you think?
You are misremembering:
Talent revamps and BC prepatch was 1.12.

Canât tell if youâre trolling or you actually believe this.
No.

You can look at the 1.12 talents yourself. For many classes these were the same as they were from 1.6 when the first revamps occurred.

Stop spreading misinformation.
Singular, not plural.
Pretty sure Blizzard rearranged some of the patch contents for Classic.
They can pick and choose different elements from the each of the later patches to add and or hold off on.
We are essentially playing the TBC patchâs nerfed 1.0 content, minus the TBC pre-patch 2.0 content.
1.12 was the baseline for certain things, but it is certainly not limited to the ORIGINAL 1.12 patch. They have added and delayed things, not to mention weâre playing on the Legion engine with a down-patched addon API as well.
This is pretty much a remastered version of late-stage vanilla WoW with delayed content releases being phased in.
Itâs been forever, but I could swear the patch before BC turned Paladins into beast.
they know what patch theyâre on. theyâre just grasping and trolling.
Perhaps itâs some of the class specific changes that came in 1.12 that people are calling content nerfs, such as Warriorâs Shield Slam âThis ability will sometimes no longer remove more than one beneficial effect from the target.â owait.
Iâm not trying to argue that Classic WoW is as difficult as Vanilla was at all times. Iâm actually trying to point out that 1.12 doesnât seem to be the nerfing patch that some people are claiming it was.
Some 1.12 patch notes:
From https://blizzardwatch.com/2018/06/25/wow-archivist-life-classics-patch-1-12/
:
- During 1.12, progression raiders were still hard at work on patch 1.11âs major feature and the final raid zone of Classic WoW : Naxxramas.
- Even in 1.12, players were still running dungeons like Upper Blackrock Spire for gear.
- With no âcatch-upâ mechanisms like Legionâs Veiled Argunite vendor, the only way to gear up was to progress through the tiers.
Changes in 1.12, from https://wow.gamepedia.com/Patch_1.12.0
:
- Threat Reduction Effects
- Haste and Slow effects
- The deserter debuff will now continue to expire even while you are offline.
- Honorable Kills now diminish at a rate 10% per kill rather than 25% per kill.
- Temporary item buffs will no longer persist through zoning or logging out due to technical issues.
Uldaman
- Reduced the number of Shadowforge Ambushers that attack after looting the quest chest.
- Shadowforge Ambushers are no longer elite.
- The respawn of the Stone Stewards has been changed to 2 hours (from 30 minutes).
ZulâFarak
- The respawn of the 2 Troll/1 Basilisk patrollers should now be 2 hours.
- Reduced the damage dealt by the Sulâlithuz Abomination and Sulâlithuz Sandcrawler.
- ZulâFarrak Dead Heroes are no longer elites.
- Theka the Martyr will now only remain immune to physical damage for 30 seconds before reverting to normal.
- Antuâsulâs Sulâlithuz Broodlings now only hatch 4 at a time and are significantly weaker.
- Witch Doctor Zumârah will no longer call as many ZulâFarrak Zombies to his aid when aggroed.
- Weegli Blastfuse now has slightly more hit points.
- Antuâsulâs Warden no longer attempts to knock adventurers into Antuâsulâs lair.
- Sandfury Cretins who engage the party during the pyramid event are no longer able to cast shadow bolt.
Maraudon
- Noxxious Scions will no longer spawn when you cleanse Celebrian Vines.
And some class-specific, UI, API changes, and bugs fixes.
I thought this was understood by now.
The patch that was released as âClassicâ was released as Vanilla in September, 13 years ago. Months before the launch of TBC which was in Jan of 2007.
This patch is a culmination of all the content ânerfsâ prior to TBC so that players would be effectively geared entering the Dark Portal.
Didnât Ony get 5manned in vanilla?
You donât know what pre-patch means.
Now this is pod-rac⌠err trolling.
So now the theory is that Blizzard snuck in some Patch 2.0.3 changes to make the game easier? Well when in doubt, aim for pure conspiracy that cannot be falsifiedâŚ
