I mean if everyone is hell bent on saying BM is the best and your are MM and groups whisper BM or MM before inviting you and you say MM its generally an instant decline with sometimes a “LOL”
Ok well I play SV, which is literally rated below both MM and BM. Yet I am 2172 io 12/12 heroic raid, 1700 arena (I don’t PvP much). All by pugging the content. None was done with a guild or friend’s. You can check the logs and see I never did content with the same group of people.
If I can play a bottom 5 dps spec to that success without having people around me carrying me through everything. How is it impossible to play anything but meta?
Literally my entire coarse this expansion contradicts that in itself.
Take cover friend, the GD crowd is going to say none of those require anything but a pulse to get.
Well like this is the thing to me right.
If you aren’t aiming to be top 1 percent, be in a mythic guild that goes 12/12, be 2400 rating in PVP, have a 4k io score.
Then why are you freaking out over the small things?
Clearly what I’m trying to show is you are more than capable of playing and gearing any class without losing out on any rewards per say.
Sure you might not get invited to a bleeding edge guild, but how many people are realistically trying to do that? 1k-2k? Out of how many millions?
People waste their time worried about what some 16 year old basement dweller said on reddit instead of enjoying the damn game…
People like to believe that one day they’ll be there.
I mean there is a certain point when you need to come to reality though.
How many millions of League of Legends players would like to join the LCS. Well there is 50 spots and lets see how many millions of people playing? At some point you gotta realize the odds.
If you work a 40+ hour a week job. If you are attending college/high school. If you are parent of young children. If you have periods where you can’t play. If you are age 50+.
You are probably not going to make it there at any point.
And if you are one of the people mentioned above, instead of stressing out over every single number because someone on a discord server told you too, or someone on reddit said this was optimal. Why don’t you just try to actually pursue enjoying the game?..
You know how many people run talents they literally hate, just because it’s like a 0.1 percent dps difference over another talent they really like? That they will never truly even notice… Think about how ignorant that seems, they straight up make their gameplay considerably worse, because a calculator told them too, for a beyond minimal gain…
Meaningful choice and whatnot.
I don’t really disagree with you, but people gonna do what they do anything something is objectively better performance wise. (In any area of life, not just games)
Why such an overreaction? Ralph is making a legitimate point on the effects that 1%'s opinions have on the rest of the playerbase. Whether you want to admit or not, when top players talk about what’s good and bad, other players follow them. Nowhere is that more evident than in faction choice and why WoW has such a large imbalance, at least in the competitive playerbase.
no what he’s doing is taking what was said by top players out of context to fit his derogatory narrative
Just because dead specs continue to exist doesn’t mean we should ever stop trying to hold Blizzard to a higher standard.
This never happened. This is something you made up entirely on your own. You need to stop posting such hateful nonsense every time Preach says anything.
This is nothing new. I was denied raid spots back in Vanilla because I wanted to raid as Arms. My guild wouldn’t even bring me to Molten Core because of it. I had to switch to Prot and hope one of the tanks took the night off to get in.
Yeah, if you want to play a bad spec in high end content then you are a burden. You’re dragging the group down. It’s like saying that you don’t like cleats. You may be correct that your sneakers are more comfortable, but if you want to play on a serious team you’re putting yourself above the rest of the team if you wear them.
If you look at Warcraft logs, which most dps look at when raiding, Heroic and mythic. For an example; rank 1 sub rogue is equivalent to a rank 7581 BM hunter (53 parse). Equivalent to a rank 111 feral Druid or 180 assassin rogue. It’s statistics if the best sub rogue in the world is equal to a average BM hunter. Which are you going to bring to the raid? You have 21-23 people and first time nzoth you need to beat the insanity so you need to push dps as much as possible.
Absolutely not. Flynn’s gesture of burden is one of being a good human being and being a good teammate. The whole “don’t be that guy” comes from a place of parity. Don’t be the guy playing the class that consistently plays low dps…because you’re exponentially making it harder for the rest of your teammates to achieve your meta-goals, and it is very likely they will bear you as a burden because they are wholesome human beings.
The ostracism we have today toward similar things is a gross extrapolation of that idea, where performance is tied to poor choices, and to a larger degree, ineptitude. It’s not wrong, but don’t confuse willful ignorance with un-willful burden.
Anyone who says that is bad and a troll.
Stopped reading there. This is why I don’t watch streamers. I miss the good old days when people came up with conclusions on their own, not based on what some pleb with a webcam says.
I keep seeing “people need to play what you enjoy, stop min maxing.” Just because someone hates a part doesn’t mean they hate the whole. People love the competition, the adrenaline of performing the best you can. The feeling of elation when you finally kill the boss, and you and your teammates are screaming. Just because you don’t enjoy it doesn’t mean others don’t. People want others to stop telling them how to play based on the meta, then stop telling others to stop doing what they enjoy in the game. People like to min max it wouldn’t be a thing if they didn’t. They like trying to be the best that’s called competitiveness. There is estimated 2.1m subscribers daily. No one will play the same. If people want to listen to preach or max, let them. Worry about yourself instead of others because it’s annoying that the higher players keep getting blamed.
