Ogres for the Horde and Sethrak for the Alliance have a 0.000001% drop rate, can only be attempted once a month, and only allows you to make a single one. If you delete it or want a second one, you must get the drop again.

Well, Kennie clearly thinks people love RNG.
People killing bosses hundreds of times to get a pet they won’t use obviously don’t mind it.
I play a lot of games, one of the main ones Guild Wars 2, and one of the main issues I’ve run into trying to get people into the game is there are not a lot of “gamble” rolls for valuable loot.
There are lots of people that like the rush of a rare drop, as much as many would prefer more deterministic drops or vendor options. It’s just two different types of games, and while wow has shown that they will bend it sometimes, it’s been apart of the game for as long as I can remember.

I think there’s a wide range between being ‘too rare’ and not being random at all. Just because they agree that Arfus’ drop rate was too low, and that they’ll (presumably) move away from drop rates that low in the future, doesn’t necessarily mean that nothing will ever again be random, nor is it really fair to start screeching as soon as the next new thing is also a random drop, especially if the drop rate for said new thing isn’t even determined yet.
I mean yeah, RNG can wear someone down, but if you’re this embittered by the concept, it might be time to take a break from collecting until you’re able to enjoy it again.
I got arfus on my first run, the DR armor on the second, and the mount on the third.

They can do that by rotating in and out rewards on a vendor for a bunch of currency.
Arfus wasn’t even the worst part. The worst/dumbest was the DR customization. They gave it almost the same drop rate as the mount itself, but instead its just a mount customisation no one will see, notice or use. SMH.
What do they mean “we agree”
This wasn’t some bug or some unexpectedly hard mechanic to overcome.
Its a drop rate. That they hard code. Someone had to type in 0.1%.
How do you not realize how low this is until after the fact? What else exists in the game like this?
I still don’t have the horseman’s mount and I’ve been trying almost since it was introduced in the game. Just another drop to not get for a decade+
I got it… will never use it… because it is for a drake form I don’t enjoy. But now that flying is here I’m almost exclusively in flight form.
it’s day one… we have no idea how rare these things are yet. blizzard said they would make things MORE ACCESSIBLE, they never said that means getting rid of RNG alltogether.

Arfus isn’t needed for any pet battles unless maybe he’s really OP PVP which I don’t PvP pet battle.
I call that Diet FOMO. Since it’s more of a fear of having to wait a whole year. Versus never again.
Same. I figured the toy wouldn’t be werth as much as the dragon mog so Blizz would give it to everyone.
