Now this may just be because I used my Credit Card cash back funds to buy the game, not my actual money, so im not out on any dollars with this game, but honestly, the game is not that bad. Most people spamming that the game is bad haven’t played it, they are just jumping on the bandwagon due to hearsay. One person says the game is bad 10 others will copy him even though they didnt play the game.
Give it a few months and all the problems in the game will likely be fixed too, then we’ll have a true gem on our hands.
This probably wouldn’t be as big a controversy if WC3R did not literally obliterate the classic WC3 client without giving the owner any choice in the matter. I have never heard of a remaster product behaving this way.
It may suck, but this is just how the gaming industry does things these days. No one releases complete games anymore, and even though I dont like it…its become the standard for the industry. This isnt a blizz specific issue.
Just checking, what exactly is your argument? Because bad behavior is being normalized by a standard group of bad actors the community has no right to complain? We’re just supposed to shrug and say “that’s how it goes” without giving any kind of feedback?
Cash back funds come from annual card fees, interest , the banks selling your personal information and merchant fees. You didn’t get it for free you just paid for it In a different way.
My Argument is, if you haven’t played the game, stop whining about it. I’ve played, and although there are problems, its not nearly as bad as some posters here, and some youtubers, are claiming. If you want to play something, then complain with valid points, go for it. If you want to jump on the whining bandwagon, the bans are your own fault.
And this right here is exactly why people SHOULD BE outraged at the absolute state of WC3R. This “release first, fix later” mentality is a cancer upon the industry and should be disposed of alongside MTX.
I’m not saying I particularly agree with pay now fix later…but from a business standpoint if blizz became the only major gaming company not doing it, they would be at a disadvantage to other companies who put out their games faster and make money faster.
Okay, so let’s pretend you never said that weird thing about AAA companies normalizing bad behavior and therefore that makes it okay, because it seems like that’s completely irrelevant to this argument.
So here’s the new question; what on earth makes you think the people that are complaining haven’t actually played the game? Why would they be so upset otherwise? Why would the subreddit be filled with screenshots of refund requests?
And, again, even if WC3R was just a mediocre product that would be repaired in a few months’ time, the unforgivable aspect of its existence is that it forces a downgrade to anyone who wants to play on the classic client.
They now have to deal with buggy UI, unresponsive menus, and the removal of critical features like clans, profiles, and custom campaigns.
WC3R has effectively removed features from the game clients of anyone who wants to play WC3.
Hmm, yeah that is fair, it is pretty unprecedented for a remastered game to affect the original game, not sure why they did that, and that is worthy of complaint. However, posts like “get your refund now, dont try the game, REFUND NOW” are absurd.
And my post about AAA companies doing this wasn’t to justify it, rather to point out that blizz didnt start the trend, nor can they stop it. If blizz became the only company to stop selling unfished games, other companies would have the advantage, putting out games faster, making money faster.
It is not, but it offers nothing new. Why Blizzard does not make new ip’s anymore is the biggest question? Is the all real talent gone and all brands are just to milk them until people finally stop buying them?
Where is Diablo Immortal? Are their best developers still developing mobile games? Where the hell are they?
That’s ridiculous. Eventually you burn goodwill, alienate your audience, and leave your competitors in the ripe position to swipe your disgruntled fans. Do you think a company like Bethesda can remain an industry giant if they continue to put out products like Fallout 76?
Think about that for a second. You’re actually arguing that video game companies now need to actually put out sub-par products and just patch them later in order to survive. That’s just silly.
