Waylaid Supplies? Why can't I turn them in like I use to?

Why can’t I turn them in for less rep/rewards? Currently the market has some items for 16g each??? Like hello lol. Just make it like it use to be so I don’t need to play the game as a full time job to get a tiny bit of rep from it.

The trade off was you need to fill them, but you can carry 12.

So 12 that won’t be filled vs. 1 that you can turn in as is? That is not really a good trade off.

Yeah not very happy about the “trade off” Just make it the way it was before lol. The prices for these items are actually terrible and I deftly won’t be filling them incase they change the system later on to be easier. My luck they will put a BIS rune behind it. Figure it out blizzard since the system is lame.

Yeah, there’s no “trade off” when they just become vendor scrap because only swipers will pay a bunch of gold to fill them.

It was the trade off, no if ands or buts about that lol.

Just use your own profs to do it. They’re already dropping way more than usual.

I’m glad they made us carry more but as of now I won’t be turning them in.

If I find a certain one that’s not bad I will, not spending 5-10g for 1 item when I need 12+ to fill the stupid box. I want a mount over rep.

Yeah but it’s not like they’re sometihng you should purely focus on. You just fill them as you get them.

No a tradeoff means there is a positive and carrying 12 of trash is not a tradeoff to having 1 that you can get at lease something for. Like you offering to trade two pennies for one dollar.

I think the crux of this is putting farming a reputation behind something that you have to acquire form other people. When it comes to farming something like Essences, Primals, etc you can just go extract those form the world. Filling these boxes is usually gated by some profession you don’t have and basically locks you into paying gold for it.

Perhaps the intent here was to have players “barter” for the items? (I give you X food item if you give me X blacksmithing item) but in the world of swiping this will never be a competitive or pleasant way of filling these boxes.

It just feels like it’s punishing players who are playing the game legit and have limited gold.

Obviously.

Profs are legit.

well the box vendor had nothing of worth in it for being friendly , chances are getting honored it still be worthless , simply not doing them for gold , the first box i found i needed about 6 gold in tailoring supplies from the ah , no way am i paying that . garbage system .

I filled a new crate and got no xp, thought they stated new crates woud give a decent amount of xp

Remember, gold buyers are not the fault of things costing gold in game. You just can’t handle building up your money.

Are you trying to say that gold buyers only buy gold for player transactions? I think that’d be a stretch.
Gold buyers want a shortcut, feel they can’t get a return on their time investment that was worth it, “dad gamers,” etc. Gold buyers buy gold explicitly because things cost gold in-game.

Thats like saying video games are responsible for real life violence. Video games can’t make a person do anything. They do it soley by themselves.

I’m confused as to the point you’re trying to make or how that (comically bad) take on violence relates to gold buying.
The folks that buy gold are (likely) any combination of traits or motives that result in a perceived need for instant gratification, whether that be FOMO, time constraints, feeling their time is worth more than farming can get them, etc.
One of the ironies, of course, being that the very botters supplying their illicit gold also drive down prices, making farming worth less per hour.
I don’t know what the crossover of retail to SoD players is, but I can’t imagine Blizzard normalizing sanctioned RMT helped at all.

This seems poorly designed. It was already annoying in phase going back to base every time. Silly time sink. Now it’s not a time sink but a gold sink. Which is wild considering the team was trying to get us away from the number one gold sink GDKP. I’ll admit that’s probably apples to oranges comparison but what exactly is the point of putting 12 of these in my bank and unable to fill? Fill later? What for?

I realized that too, sucks. My second thought was i need to be very selective on the ones i roll on.

So i found a few for medium leather which was not too expensive for 12 pieces off AH ans you can find leather fishing, so i will try and prioritize those.

Also i am tailor and luckily got a few for the gray wool shirts so those ended up costing nothing. So i think you just have to be strategic in the boxes you decide to collect.
