Waycrest Manor Bug

Was running randoms to level up last night and got dropped into Waycrest Manor. Everything was going well up until we got to the witch trio. We ended up encountering a bug where we couldn’t kill the final sister as she hadn’t grabbed the iris yet. We reset, had the same issue. Did it probably 5 times before we concluded that we must be doing too much damage too quickly, bugging the encounter. So we reset and resolved to do the fight again using only auto-attack.

After about three and a half boring minutes of whacks, we brought down the trio of witches and moved on. (If one of you fine folks is reading this, give a shout).

With Waycrest Manor coming to M+ this next season, having bugs where you can’t progress past the sisters is going to be a problem. Now this might be the typical “State of WoW” doom and gloom, but I have concerns that this bug might cause problems in the M+ season for at least the first couple of weeks. Especially with Aug Evoker boosting damage, the likelihood of this bug disrupting M+ is much higher than it was the last time Waycrest Manor came up in the M+ pool.

Please, Blizz, playtest your stuff and give us working content.

Additional information:

  • It’s well known that damage is scaled sub-60 to match the ratio of your character level to your iLvl
  • 4/5 of us were well kitted characters below level 15 (so high lvl:iLvl ratio)
  • Healer was dealing damage because level 13 Brewmasters don’t need much healing
  • I didn’t play BFA, so idk what sort of bugs it had at the time
  • Firebolt go brrrrt

If you believe the bug was caused because of too much dmg too quickly (yes I agree this was likely it) then it won’t be an issue in M+.

I’d cross post this to the bug report forums too if you haven’t already.

There was another bug on Lord and Lady Waycrest that was the same thing. Too much damage too quickly didn’t allow the fight to phase properly I guess? It was super annoying. But that was just in a normal leveling dungeon I think? Where everything dies quickly. I agree with the person who said it shouldn’t be an issue in M+, but still, you’d like to see some of this stuff be addressed if possible.
