seriously? they have been removing and nerfing trash with every expansion, it takes what… 4-5 minutes between bosses on average. maybe 5-10 on a particularly long stretch. but those are fairly rare, since its uncommon to have lust ready for 2 bosses in a row.
they nerf and remove too much more and you may as well just be doing a boss rush arena. which would get even more repetitive and cause more burnout. especially in M+ because it would make fortified weeks completely irrelevant.
Tbh, i think that’s pretty much what they want. I do think it should be a separate mode though.
… Oh wait, we used to have that, don’t we?
/looks at Brawler’s Guild.
There’s like, 5 minutes of trash at most between most bosses. Lots of bosses only have a couple pulls between them. The trash is there is showcase mechanics that show up on the next boss, as well as build atmosphere and pacing in the raid.
Trash is fine in dungeons but raid trash is well…trash.
Tbh there’s barely any trash in dungeons and raids anymore, only real exception is sod nightmare fuel
From a story/lore standpoint of the instance, trash is needed. The issue is where there is a long drag of trash like from the 1st boss in Sepulcher to any of the next bosses. But at this point most of us are used to it.
Since when is 3-5 minutes a long drag?
I like the trash in M+ that’s where all our crazy aoe numbers come from.
If I could change one thing in blizzards game design it would be trash. I hate clearing trash. It’s not fun, not rewarding and usually a couple packs have some absolutely stupid mechanic.
But blizzard is stuck in the past on a lot of things
Why do players want to fight trash? Is it fun?
And it was some of, if not THE, best content we’ve ever had…
Also Trial of the Crusader.
In raids, I get tired of trash with boss mechanics; the focus on progression is high enough that when we’ve killed a boss we want to talk about victory or our numbers or roll for loot or simply rest for a second. Sure, some of the dps get to take a break but the tanks and the healers must press on. So, I’d vote for easier trash – let the dps swap their talents to AoE and have a ball.
Dying to trash sucks, you went afk or were talking because it is finally your turn and bam.
The BoEs were a partial promise to help fill the coffers of guild banks so that they can offer repairs – well that didn’t happen. Blizzard really needs to support guilds better, they’ve been on ignore for too long. I think that I read that only certain trash mobs, like mini-bosses will drop BoEs – so the rest is just filling time.
People that complain about this have just been playing the game too long and are likely burnt out regardless… They just want to go straight to the boss get loot and sit in Oribos on their “prestige” mount.
When you have a 1/4 of the raid doing trash, it’s a drag
I consider the trash after VG to the teleports as Anduin’s trash.
Nope blizzard tried a raid with no trash and a lot of people cried. Won’t happen again.
No thanks. I love immersive raids. I don’t want to run in and just have only bosses. Talk about boring. Yes trash sucks, but it adds to the place and the big raids would just be a small circle room then with all the bosses in each room you just run into. No immersiveness. No nothing. Just walk 50 feet into the room. Boss fight. Run out and run 50 feet to the next room. Boss fight. No thanks.
Maybe I’m misremembering here, but I’m pretty confident that TotC was very much disliked because of the fact that it had no trash.
I think trash provides texture to a raid zone, and is really healthy for the story telling the game attempts to tell. It would be weird to assault the grand fortress of the burning legion only for it to effectively be a boss rush.
I will say, if you’re not actively pulling massive amounts of trash, popping lust and using all your CDs to AoE them down, you are 100% doing it wrong.
