It’s the game of stuns.
If you limit “It would change the balance of many class. Things like Priest’s Guardian Spirit “Castable while stunned” would probably be removed or healers would have less instant and more casting time. “ this would effect game play for the priest class in PvE raids which would cripple the priests healing class of holy priest no one would play holy anymore. Blizzard won’t change what you want.
Blizzard will never ever make a drastic change like you are requesting because it would affect the core abilities of player vs environment. The expansion people talk about would have to really be all about PvP through out the entire game making a whole separate instance world in wow just for PvP, where you would live in it full time like we did with the garrison days. It would literally split the entire wow community into two completely different game environments.
To top it off there actually might have to be new classes created just for that environment and those classes would not be able to function in the pve world at all.
That’s what would have to happen to make this fly. Do they feel it would be worth a guild wars with in wow? It’s a heck of a subject for discussion.
Might as well just join and play on a PvP server.
Eh all i wanted are stuns to break after certain amount of damage. Or not keep up after X number of attacks.
And the removal of cheap shot from rogues. Because it annoyes me greatly.
But in reality most people dont know and dont want to know how to counter some skills and believe training things in an open field with no loss and cc is the true pvp experience lol
You remove most of it.
If healers had to actually manage mana then there wouldnt be a need for so much CC.
this game has always had WAY to much CC
Its the opposite actually. The game had even more Cc with longer durations and separate DRs when healers needed to manage mana.
I know people always shut it down but I think SWTOR handles it correctly. There’s a resolve bar that fills as you get CC’d, and when it gets full, you CANNOT BE CC’d until it empties.
I’m not really sure how that would work in WoW, but it would forever end RMP tyranny which I’m all for.
Too much CC and far too much burst. Not everyone needed a stun, an incap or equivalent, a snare, and a gap closer. It has quadrupled the amount of CC going on in every group fight.
Not to mention how careless people are with it by either Dr’ing everything or breaking 2 minute cd blinds. But that also raises another problem… The baked in aoe into EVERYTHING. Why does nearly everything have to cleave? M+?
Ditch all of the damage modifiers that makes balance a nightmare, give certain classes a smaller CC toolkit best suited for them, and make single target spells actually be single target again.
No it wouldnt. Swtor resolve means theres no DRs. Youre CCd full duration 2-3 times depending on the cc used and then youre immune to everything for 12 seconds or 20 seconds or whatever it is.
So mage could poly twice off a stun back to back full duration without the priest or rogue.
Resolve would make wow worse not better. Play swtor
Staring at a greyed out action bar is the opposite of fun. I play a character to do things with it, not to wait with my hands off the keyboard while it sleeps. Why can’t the devs understand that we want to actually play and control our characters? Seems pretty basic. /shrug
Wow without cc would just be people doing PvE rotations at eachother, vaguely working towards LoS and other positioning based micro.
Like mages dueling in vanilla but with somehow less depth. And no polymorph
I know them stuns like the 4 second stun, do you know how long 4 seconds is in a BG where you are fighting trying to stay alive and you attempt to fend off two from the opposing team, it’s nearly impossible to do.
I just stop pushing buttons once I am stunned and there is no one around I’m hosed against two players.
That wouldn’t negatively impact the ‘game’ it would impact cheap rated kill strats and force players to actually come up with viable moves rather than depend completely on a stupid, broken chain of stuns to get a win.
