More than likely this results in more players than less. Some of those modes are very much temporary (I expect hardcore to be).
Some of those work to supplement/add to a mode. Plunderstorm rewards are mostly going to benefit a retail player. MoP remix characters go to retail at the end of the event.
I finished PS and am going to smash MoP Remix. It’s only to my advantage in retail mogs/mounts.
Does player count really matter so much in this game? You only need like 80 players online at max level to do any content in the game (epic bgs, less for raid only 10-30).
I think its less about current player count and more about time investment.
For many WoW is a big time commitment so there is a fear of investing in the wrong game version.
Right, and when you factor in the hundreds of servers across multiple regions along with phasing and sharding that 7 million quickly starts feeling very empty…
re-releasing the entire game while you still have the original product in production is just stupid.
