Way too many WoW's?

Yo, I can’t even figure it out anymore at this point,

there’s retail wow

there’s like classic wow

but also classic hardcore wow

but also wrath of the lich king, about to be cataclysm now?

but also season of discovery wow?

and now we’re getting mists of pandaria remix wow?

y’all really went ahead and split the playerbase into little pieces and now they all feel dead… :man_facepalming:

Have to keep the sub count up. Everyone wants to play their own way.

You forgot plunderstorm!

More than likely this results in more players than less. Some of those modes are very much temporary (I expect hardcore to be).

Some of those work to supplement/add to a mode. Plunderstorm rewards are mostly going to benefit a retail player. MoP remix characters go to retail at the end of the event.

I finished PS and am going to smash MoP Remix. It’s only to my advantage in retail mogs/mounts.

I dont think its a bad thing. It comes and goes.
SOD is fun, then retail is fun, then classic X is fun, then retail is fun again.

But right now its basically SoD and retail.

There’s about 7 mil players spread across all those WoWs.

What are you trying to figure out?

Does player count really matter so much in this game? You only need like 80 players online at max level to do any content in the game (epic bgs, less for raid only 10-30).

The figures

I think its less about current player count and more about time investment.
For many WoW is a big time commitment so there is a fear of investing in the wrong game version.

There can never be enough WoWs

Right, and when you factor in the hundreds of servers across multiple regions along with phasing and sharding that 7 million quickly starts feeling very empty…

re-releasing the entire game while you still have the original product in production is just stupid.

Half those people probably wouldnt be here if they didnt “rerelease the game while it was still in production”

If they made all past expansions current to max level, I would be subbed forever. Mostly doing WoD, Legion, and BFA content.
