you’re expecting too much from blizzard

It’s just something I always do and always have done. Always! Hell, even the rest of the days of the week, I get on my main first. I suppose it’s just a habit for me. Apparently, it paid dividends today.

Glad I saw this post after doing the black empire and mogu assaults as well as opening my weekly mythic. Just lost 420 Echoes…

I do that as well…you know, get my daily chore grind done on my main first thing. However, this is the first day players can get ‘shareable essences’ on their alts, so it’s understandable that they would want to do so right away. You know…the excitement of something new, and helpful?

But no. Instead, they are to discover that wasn’t anticipated and planned for…or if it was, no pre-warning was given until after the complaints came rolling in. This isn’t a sittuation of people seeking things for free as Lore has insinuated, but rather, a lack of communication from Blizzard. You know…situation normal.

Apparently unlocking the tank essence from a source doesn’t also unlock the dps essence or healer essence.

So have fun still going back to grind because you didn’t get the tank essence on your rogue.

I’m curious - why just R3s and not essences in general? Did I miss an explanation of that somewhere?

I’m curious about why they didn’t just give us the dang currency regardless of if we’re “eligible”.

That would have solved this issue RIGHT THERE.

Because that would have been the smart thing to do.

Or maybe they used common sense like most people and realized you had 3 days to finish it and never were guaranteed 3 at one time.

Eh, I don’t really consider character abilities as “free rewards”. If it was gear, absolutely. Rental abilities not so much. Then again, I wasn’t a fan of legiondaries either. Nor am I a fan of titanforging and corruption.

Huh, maybe I just like to dislike things? :woman_shrugging:

We’ve pretty much been on a 2 year April fools prank called BfA

I’ve said in the past if essences are open let alts have the rank 1 version of them and then if the player wants higher ranks then grind .

At least that would give players the base level and the option to level them if they choose to .

Yup, just did everything properly, logged into my tank alt, and I could buy blood of the enemy but not sphere of suppression. Good thing I did that grind on a Hunter.

The point of account bound is to earn it on your main doing daily upkeep processes then give things to your alts so they don’t have to do as much daily up-keep processes.

If only my alt’s can earn the currency that I would use to gear my alts so they wouldn’t have to do as many dailies then that would ultamatly defeat the purpace of the whole system.

I guess what I am trying to say is…whatever you guys are taking, may I have some…seems good.

Right? I would like to know what these people are doing that they have time to play all their alts every single day and get all these rewards, reps, essences, cloaks and more done on?

Glad people see that this isn’t account bound ‘‘anything’’ and just a silly compromise that the team did (a’la Legendaries in Legion with Wakening Essences) they just want to look like they did it for the feed back.

I’m starting to think if this current team is competent in doing a proper game or if these issues are done by lead developers that don’t belong there.

It’s a technical limitation. If they moved the essences of every character on every account over to the new system at once, it would take days if not weeks, so instead the transfer happens when you log in – this way, Blizz isn’t burning money on inactive accounts and can get the feature out more quickly.

This would have been the case even if essences were plain old account bound.

The grind system is unrelated! Back when mounts and pets were made global, it worked similarly – the global pet/mount gallery didn’t have pets/mounts from characters you hadn’t signed into yet.

Where they went wrong was communication (or lack thereof). They should’ve added an in-game alert and maybe a banner on the forums informing people about this.

How would they get to be dismissive and rude through their customer support channels if they didn’t make it really easy to mess up?

NOT EVERYONE USES TWITTER BLIZZ dangit
